im trying to burn some divx avi files to a dvd that can play in any player.i've read through dvdrhelp.com and havent found the right tutorial for it.i tried converting all the files to .vob and then dropping them into the VIDEO_TS directory of a data DVD and that wouldn't play.anyone have experience doing this?

Not the answer you expect, but I would strongly suggest getting a standalone DVD player with Divx capabilities.I saw a very slim sexy DVD recorder at walmart that played Divx files for like $120

I use a program called WinAvi that can convert divx files to dvd format pretty well. Look into that.

I use TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress. It's done a great job for me with divx AVI files and it can encode the audio to Dolby Digital (AC-3).
