Update: Even though Rivers is just beginning his reign as the Chargers' starting quarterback, he has effortlessly eased into his leadership role, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Recommendation: "Certain players have leadership qualities," tight end Antonio Gates said. "I see how he is around this locker room, telling people, 'We're going to throw on Tuesday,' posting signs up - 'Be here at 7:30.' That's just something that impresses me about him." In addition, he has been a popular player in the clubhouse since his rookie season. "He's got charisma," receiver Keenan McCardell said. "People like being around him. And that's a good attribute for being at that position. He doesn't need to step it up if you're already that way."
