Spent forever on this exam and got a shitty ass grade.Anyone else having trouble deciding what his opinions are, even though it's supposed to be a philosophy discussion class?

ahaha, sameeee here broI knew it'd be the case...I spent forever and bombed it (52)It'll work out, like nobody fails if you take the optional final
6/10/2006 10:56:44 AM
I felt well warned that this was not going to be an easy course. I spent hours taking this exam, checking and double checking everything and got an 84 . With the prof's pre-curved grading scale that puts me in A territory!
6/12/2006 1:02:30 PM
it wasnt all that easy or all that hard when i took it. that said, it was a very interesting class and i actually enjoyed the readings. think i ended up with a B.
6/12/2006 9:12:10 PM
I got an A + in the course and never got under a 90 on the exams
6/13/2006 3:23:07 PM
I think this class is complete horsecrap to be totally honest. There was just a quiz where True *AND* False could be the right answer. The guys writing is just him trying hard to get "too deep" into stuff that is just retardedly simple. To each his own I guess.
6/13/2006 6:20:36 PM
To me, saying you like this class is equivalent to saying you're a fucking idiot.
6/13/2006 7:05:52 PM
No philosopher in his/her right mind could disagree with this ^
6/13/2006 7:20:07 PM
how's exam 2 looking for everyone?
6/15/2006 9:22:06 PM
Worst class ever, and I took it online
6/15/2006 9:33:58 PM
I feel like I understood the underlying concepts more, but I still had a hard time on the exam. There is a fine line between thinking very carefully and overthinking. There were a few that seemed easy enough that I was sure I was missing something. For this exam, I made a rough outline of the material so that I could find where everything was in the course content. It seems like I spent most of my time in the last exam just trying to find the examples in the text so that I could give them another deep read. I did do better on my search time, but I still spent hours on this exam. We'll see.Good luck to everyone!

Submitting my answers for this test makes me scared after my debacle on the first exam.Also- some of those 'criticisms' and 'objections' do not seem like either of the two and most of them dont seem like they have a whole lot to do with what he is talking about.I think i'm screwed
6/16/2006 6:31:40 PM
Yea, this class is very stupid. I got an A- in it though.
6/16/2006 9:47:32 PM
Grades are in and I was right. I definitely did worse on this exam - 60% At least it is still a B with the grading scale.
6/17/2006 3:46:33 AM
Does anyone know if Exam #3 is opening up this week as it says in the assessments section or exam week as it says in the syllabus? Prof Austin said that he had removed the references to the final exam from the syllabus, but they are most certainly still there. p.s. I no longer care if my mind is separate from my body. I just want the quizzes to end.
6/20/2006 11:43:56 PM
I can't figure out if Exam #3 is just a 3rd exam or if it IS the final...if it's the final, it should be optional and replace your lowest test grade. His syllabus no longer shows how the "optional final" can replace your lowest other exam grade, which sucks...I wanted Exam #3 to hopefully replace a lower exam grade. He's as unresponsive as Terry Schivao to emails too, which is unacceptable for a course that's 100% online and replies on quick communication to be effective. On the brightside, microQuiz #9 was pretty easy...gotta do the Dualism Quiz tomorrow
6/21/2006 12:46:08 AM
I am sure that the Exam #3 is not optional. It actually is listed in the grading equation. I guess we'll find out tonight at 11:55 if it becomes available. Otherwise, I'll be hunting up public libraries on the Outer Banks
6/21/2006 5:19:18 PM
yeah dualism quiz is going to be about as enjoyable as the last 2 exams..How did everyone do on the ID quiz?
6/21/2006 11:13:57 PM
5 outta 10 on the ID Quiz thank heavens I'm only taking this credit only
6/22/2006 12:47:51 AM
ID Quiz - 8/10Dualism...55% - NOT GOOD, but from the stats, fairly common.
6/22/2006 12:47:33 PM
I really need a semi-decent grade on this third exam to escape this class. Has anyone taken it, if so, is it harder or about the same as the other two tests? Also, the evaluations say at the top "This is not anonymous" Isn't that pretty fucked up?
6/26/2006 10:32:02 PM
anyone know the statistics from the third exam? Also, why was it exam #3N and not just exam #3?
6/29/2006 11:59:42 PM
Dunno statistics, but I got a 52.Never been so happy to see an "S" in all my life
6/30/2006 5:55:22 AM
68 on Exam 3/3N/final/whatever which gave me an A- in the class - whoo!
7/2/2006 10:24:16 PM
i laugh at people who struggle with this class.
7/3/2006 7:13:20 AM
EDIT: n/m...no sense in arguingthis class is gay [Edited on July 3, 2006 at 7:47 AM. Reason : .]
7/3/2006 7:38:31 AM
bump for fallwe'll see how this class turns out
8/24/2006 12:07:08 AM
I'm guessing it'll turn out like ALL THE PREVIOUS SEMESTERS THAT EVERYONE WITH A BRAIN HATED!
8/24/2006 12:11:52 AM
I'm in this for fall.I'm not really worried about it.
8/25/2006 10:05:53 AM
I took this class last fall and I thought that it was going to be easy, and I was wrong. The tests were the most confusing tests that I have ever taken. The tests seem almost like nothing but trick questions and the quizzes are also very, very tricky. Be sure to read the questions very CAREFULLY.
