Oh yeah... that time of the year again fuckers... ok, still a few months away but yahoo has the leagues up and running...Me and some people I know around here started a league up last year that we are continuing, looking for a few select people to add to the league for this year, BUT, it is a serious league, not one that you sign up for, draft, and after losing 2 games, quit... none of that shit. It will be $50, 16 teams max, live, IN-PERSON draft in raleigh, probably at Playmakers, up on the big screen and shit (manager is in the league). It is a keeper league, people that were in last year can keep 2 players off their roster. Everyone that wasnt in the league last year will get to take part in a "preliminary draft" before the regular draft to select their "keepers". (And dont worry, there will be plenty of top line players left)Let me know if you are interested.[Edited on June 9, 2006 at 11:53 PM. Reason : d]
6/9/2006 11:51:27 PM
word, im interested
6/10/2006 1:36:54 AM
going to be around raleigh mid to late august?ok with $50?
6/10/2006 1:55:48 AM
yep yep
6/10/2006 2:03:04 AM
can you list the rosters of the teams returning?
6/10/2006 2:06:52 AM
hmmm, I am visiting my family this week and I left that in Raleigh, so I can work on that when I get back next weekend... but two guys that were in it last year moved so their players will be dropped back into the pool along with all non-keepers... there will be plenty of good ones out there
6/10/2006 2:19:11 AM
so... our league is contemplating between a keeper and dynasty league? pros? cons?
6/10/2006 10:48:43 AM
ahahahha..a keeper league!the new guys would be fucked and have no chance of winning.this is a lose/lose situation for the new guys.....you lose the league and damn sure lose your $50.Nice hustle by the old guys though.COUNT ME OUT.
6/10/2006 2:54:39 PM
returning teams are only keeping two players, dipshit
6/10/2006 2:59:13 PM
yeahkeeper leagues are fun if you keep the same guys from year to year. they suck if you're joining up with an already ongoing league.
6/10/2006 2:59:18 PM
^^^ wrong^ wrong againthere will be tons of great players left, like ernie said, we are only keep two and a couple of owners left town so all of their rosters will be placed back in the pool. And with football there are soooo many injuries that its hard to predict anything. I agree that a dynasty league would be hard as hell for a new owner but a 2 player keeper isnt at all.
6/10/2006 3:40:03 PM
how many owners are returning?
6/10/2006 3:41:41 PM
I am not certain yet, just put up the league/sent out emails late last night so I dont expect too many replys until Monday at least. We only had 10 owners last year and I would say out of those, 5 are 100% definite without even talking to them and probably 2 more are likely. So that would make 7. Hell, out of my team alone will be some decent keepers for others, I had Carson Palmer, Alexander, Julius Jones, TO, Harrison, and I some D (cant remember who it was off hand, but we actually have defensive scoring worth something, definitely keeper worthy)
6/10/2006 3:47:29 PM
boobs... expect you to be in this if you are around...
6/11/2006 10:36:04 PM
atta boy
6/13/2006 5:53:37 PM
Panthro's right the new guys are gonna get fuckedso if ~7 guys are returning and get to keep 2 of their players, thats 14 top players gone off the topso for all the n00bs, it would be like missing the 1st round of the draft[Edited on June 13, 2006 at 6:13 PM. Reason : oops...panthro not ernie]
6/13/2006 6:05:42 PM
noooo, not at all... what if the two guys not returning had Larry Johnson, LT, Alexander and Manning? yeah, thats exactly like missing the first round
6/13/2006 6:07:42 PM
6/13/2006 6:08:55 PM
^ hahahahhatrust me fuckers, there will be plenty of good players left, PLENTY
6/13/2006 6:10:06 PM
changed my post assholes[Edited on June 13, 2006 at 6:14 PM. Reason : i wanted to say panthro and not ernie]
6/13/2006 6:14:17 PM
you didnt change the other part that was wrong
6/13/2006 6:16:08 PM
why would someone wanna pay $50 when they have no chance at all to get tomlinson, larry johnson, alexander, peyton, steve smith, etc. etc. etc.
6/13/2006 6:21:00 PM
god dammit, can you not read?if the people that had LT, Manning etc arent in the league anymore, then ALL of those players would be available to the new owners.
6/13/2006 6:26:10 PM
why don't you list some of these "tons of great players"
6/13/2006 6:26:47 PM
well, as I said before, I dont have them with me here, but I will when I get back to raleigh, but hell, my team alone I had:AlexanderHarrisonTOCarson PalmerJulius Jonesand a good Dso, if I keep TO and Alexander, then that leave Harrison, Palmer, JJ, the D JUST off of my team
6/13/2006 6:28:48 PM
i'd keep alexander and harrisonor alexander and palmeri'm definitely reluctant on drafting T.O. in early rounds this yearhe's one of the best receivers in the leaguebut marvin is consistantly just as good with no risk[Edited on June 13, 2006 at 6:35 PM. Reason : asdf]
6/13/2006 6:34:42 PM
yeah, i still got a lot of thinking to do... was going to be Alex. and Palmer until Palmer's injury.... but if there is one thing that Bledsoe can do (aside from get sacked) its chuck the shit out of the ball downfield... going to wait to see what they do with him during training camp and preseason etc
6/13/2006 6:37:05 PM
bttt
6/19/2006 6:15:12 PM
so are the new owners going to get a couple draft picks before the old owners get to pick?
6/19/2006 6:21:25 PM
yup, they will have a "preliminary draft" about a week before the actual live draft. They will pick up their 2 "keepers" from all of the players that were dropped/owner left town/not doing it again etc.
6/19/2006 6:51:01 PM
which of you signed up already? there are 2 of you on there but I cant tell who is who:Ryan Leaf All-Stars PorkchopSandwiches
6/22/2006 5:36:11 PM
^ whoever this is let me know or I am going to remove your team from the league... we need to get everything finalized...also, if anyone else is interested let me know, 2 spots available
7/6/2006 5:14:13 PM

7/6/2006 5:34:48 PM

when it's fantasy hockey, let me know who wants a whoopin
7/7/2006 1:48:47 AM
I'd rather do fantasy laundry
7/7/2006 1:52:54 AM
Make sure and use the scoring system1 goal = 1 point1 assist = 1 point1 save = 1 point
7/7/2006 11:48:27 AM
only Patrick Roy would support that system
7/7/2006 11:54:45 AM
I would do it if i was in Raleigh but I am in Charlotte, I am in a keeper league here where you are basically the GM you have a 53 man roster and an 8 man Practice Squad. you draft every position including punter and individual offensive lineman. Its fucking intense.
7/7/2006 4:35:51 PM
yeah, that would be sweet.
7/7/2006 4:53:43 PM
the salary cap is tricky you get 100 (represents millions) and 150 contract years. The free agent bidding is fun to, fucking Jeff Ulbrich (MLB SF) is getting like 3.8 million a year, he's making more than Keith Bullock.
7/7/2006 5:23:10 PM
HAHAHAH, if you can make it up for the draft let me know
7/7/2006 5:51:43 PM
7/9/2006 4:04:43 PM
Post those teams dawg!
8/13/2006 6:02:40 PM

interesting draft...kinda strange that that last team (ilikemytruck) took QB's with back to back picks and two WR's coming back as the keepers, that leaves a RB to be picked in the 5th round...ouchplus he took Vick and Brees above Eli, Hasselbeck, McNabb and Culpepperand whats up with The Joe Dirts taking 3 defences and only 1 QBI think that you and the boobs/prufrock teams look good, but I think team Stank might be the early team to beat
8/13/2006 8:18:48 PM
yeah, the guy who drafted last, it was his first time doing it...weirdest pic was Antonio Bryant in the first!!!and defense is worth a lot in our league.
8/13/2006 9:07:43 PM
I'm surprised Ronnie Brown fell to the 8th round, i have a feeling he is going to have a breakout year (well at least a better year than Frank Gore who got picked ahead of Brown)and that Antonio Bryant pick is crazy, that same team has Reggie Bush, Addai, and LenDale White as the only RB's, LOTS of question marks there. I guess that owner felt like throwing away $50
8/13/2006 9:17:18 PM
thats reggie brown in the 8th
