... and Clemens provided the team with a $7000 remodeled clubhouse... and Clemens' son played 3rd base in the same game

i saw that shit live...fuckin rocket got rocked by some single-A reject
6/7/2006 9:43:07 AM
not exactly a reject.....kid was just drafted last year in the first round. Got a sweet fuckin swing too.
6/7/2006 9:48:38 AM
well reject just in the sense that he plays single A ball, and compared to Clemens who has had one of the best MLB pitching careers everbut he just got instant fame last night]
6/7/2006 9:51:36 AM
yeah, no kiddin. I can see it now, Stump the Schwab 2020"What A-Leaguer took Roger Clemens Deep in his first stint during his billionth comeback?"

I thought it was fun to watch, and a good story to read
6/7/2006 9:53:26 AM
Roger is 25 years removed from high schoolthis kid is one year removedi think it's a bit too early to call him a rejectBTW, that was a great fucking story
6/7/2006 9:54:35 AM
6/7/2006 9:55:52 AM
basically...and i have the utmost respect for clemens pitching so more props to dude...but yeah, reject just compared to clemens' career...course most people are rejects in baseball when you compare them to roger clemens
6/7/2006 9:57:27 AM
reject would imply that the kid had been to the majors and couldnt hack it or has been stuck in single A ball his entire career. neither of which are true
6/7/2006 11:46:05 AM
yeah well i already explained what i was implyingnot to take anything away from teh kid who hit the homerbut he's not exactly Albert Pujols hitting the Rocket deep
6/7/2006 12:57:07 PM
the kid isn't a reject, he's a top prospect for the club actually. He's straight out of high school so imo it definetly makes sense to have him play a season of single A. Anyway, it doesn't really matter, clemmons was just working on different pitches and stuff, he wasn't attacking the batters going for Ks, all he'd have to do was throw splitters when he was ahead in the count. He was throwing all around the plate, working on control, and testing out pitches.
