I really do not use this laptop at all anymore and I need to get rid of it since I can defiantly use the money for other things. I have had this laptop for a little under 2 years now. I hardly ever used it during that time anyway though. This laptop probably saw about 2-3 hours of uptime a week at the most. This laptop has been nothing but great to me since the day I pulled it out of the box. I have had ZERO problems with this laptop. This laptop come originally with a very slow HDD, but I have replaced it with the 40GB 7200rpm drive that is in it now. It boot up very quickly and will run almost anything you throw at at, it also handles gaming very well for a laptop of its age. It does come with Windows XP Pro with a COA sticker on the bottom. Although it does not come with original install disks. All the laptop cam with are recovery disks that will reload everything on the computer as it would have come from the factory. I currently have a new install of windows from the recovery disks on it right now, thought I can put a more clean install if you so chose. Battery time is very good for the laptop still. With just websurfing and other non-intensive tasks, it still gets about 2 hours of runtime. Though with gaming and more intensive tasks, you will probably get more like an hour and fifteen of 1 and a half hours. The exterior case is not in the greatest shape in the world that are several very noticeable scratches on the top cover, but the screen and the inside of the laptop still look great. WTF is an Acer?

I have a 2025WLMi and I can highly recommend any Acer laptop. They might not be as well known as dell, but they're definitely up there with the best. Personally it would appear that you didn't treat the battery as well as you could have. My 2025 got just over 5 hours when I bought it and it'll still get 3ish with the screen at full brightness and wireless on.Buy this, pop a new battery in it and you'll be good to go.

^ It has been a while since I really tested the battery time so I figured I would do that today in response to what you said. It turn out that I way under shot what I remember the battery can do.For minimal CPU usage (web surfing, using wireless, half screen brightness) I got just at 3 hours. For Max CPU usage (prime 95) I got just under 2 hours. These are almost the exact times that I remember getting when I originally got the laptop. And just to let everyone know, Acer laptops are know to be very reliable, much more so than any comparative Dell. The only reason that more people have not heard of them is because almost no retail chain stores carry them, and they can really only be ordered online. This will make an ultra solid/reliable laptop to anyone that want more of a desktop replacement laptop, or that want to be able to do any gaming on their laptop. If anyone has any questions, or want to acctually see and play around with the laptop, feel free to PM me.

I bought an Acer desktop from Walmart many years ago... They do sell them at retail stores
6/9/2006 9:20:34 PM
Nuh uh, CharlesHF hasn't seen them in retail stores so that clearly means that retail stores don't sell them.
