So it looks like the home & home w/ Tennessee got "shelved". That's pretty gay if you ask me...I was totally looking forward to going to the UT game @ Knoxville just to say I'd been to that stadium once in my life.

It's not about the "better team" per se. Even during the Notre Dame time w/ the now-Washington guy as their coach (name has escaped me), it would've been sweet to play Notre Dame.

"Tennessee" is just a football school that demands respect/TV time. South Carolina....not so much yet.

south carolina will actually be better for tv, imo, because of spurrier. the media loves him, and amato too for that matter.

i still would prefer the matchups with tennessee. i see them as a rival of sorts.

I was really looking forward to that game in 2008 in Knoxville.

I grew up in Knoxville and have been to about a hundred games there. If you haven't been to a game in Neyland Stadium, you should. It is one of the best college venues in the country.

We are such a bad team to play. Nothing very good comes out of beating us, becuase we are not very recognizable, and if they lose then its another L for them. We are at the point, like a lot of teams, that we are a dangerous average team, and no good comes from playing teams like that for the big boys, ie Tennessee, Florida, USC, ND, etc.

i drove past Williams-Bryce last weekend. Its probably the 2nd ugliest college stadium I've ever seen up close, with #1 being the craptacular home of Vanderbilt football, whatever their stadium is.

I'll take this, but only so we can have a shot at beating Spurrier.

Well we're not trying to drop ECU. In fact, we've scheduled them for like the next 6 years if I heard that correctly. We think the same thing, but we're not afraid to play them, and its actually a fun game to go to. The ECU series got cancelled a few years back because of fighting on the field and between the fans in the parking lot...it got a little too ugly.
