The strike is a kind of anti-affirmative action protest.

It’s really ignorant to think caste system is about racism or religion. Caste has nothing to do with race or religion. Caste system originated in profession of a person. Certain professions naturally turned out to be more prestigious. This in turn resulted into multi-level classes which ended up into castes over hundreds of years.
