i heard the eastern games will be on oln and the western games will be on nbc. is this true? i hate fucking oln. they need to at least have hd before they go and get a major sporting event

5/30/2006 10:22:20 PM

5/30/2006 10:40:11 PM
^what he said
5/30/2006 10:42:20 PM
^^ yea, get the espn hd package and you get INHD which carries the OLN games in HD
5/30/2006 10:44:47 PM
^^^damnit ive been watching them in regular all this time
5/30/2006 11:11:55 PM
I HATE that NBC has the rights to the NHL, but yet plays the games on OLN, which most need digital cable or satellite to get. at least ABC put them on ESPN, which most do have.
5/30/2006 11:23:02 PM
^ That has nothing to do with it at all. They are two separate contracts. NBC only signed a small deal for weekend games and limited playoff games. The big television contract was signed by OLN, which has no affiliation with NBC.
5/30/2006 11:26:11 PM
^ He's right. OLN bought up the rights to a bunch of NHL games since nobody wanted them. They figured nobody would watch, so OLN bought the rights fairly cheap.
5/30/2006 11:27:39 PM
^^, ^ yepFUCK ESPN
5/30/2006 11:28:43 PM
i thought OLN was an NBC affiliate, I guess I was wrong
5/30/2006 11:28:46 PM
Time Warner unlocks inHD when the hockey game is on.. so anyone with an HD box can watch the game in HD whether or not they have the HD tier (the inHD, espnhd package)
5/30/2006 11:33:33 PM
5/31/2006 12:28:37 AM
i was expecting a "olnhd' channel. not inhd. especially since the first montreal game on there was showing a different game on inhd. hell, i didnt even know oln existed until these playoffs
5/31/2006 1:31:08 AM
you are REALLY behind.....
5/31/2006 2:09:01 AM
Channel 95 for those with DirectTV's HD package
5/31/2006 12:19:15 PM
IIRC, NBC didn't pay anything for their rights. It's strictly a revenue-sharing contract.Man I miss those days of espn2 having hockey every night..even if it was San Jose half the time.
