the notre dame allegations were similar to the valvano situation here; the media played up half-truths and unfounded accusations so much that eventually the ncaa gave in. "tarnished dome" was about as reliable a portrayal of his team as "personal fouls" is of valvano.

what really mattered was that his national championship team was scot-free.

i still like lou. here's a guy who wasn't afraid to put a player in his place. he'd send home star players the night before the orange bowl for breaking team rules. he's a master disciplinarian and motivator, regardless.

V yeah, he had that back when he was at ND too, i dont know how he got to be a game commentator.
