YOU ARENT A REAL FAN IF YOU DIDNT WANT HERB AND HIS SUCCESS GONE! So we lost out on Wright and Turner, 2 top 25 players.Yeah losing Herb was good alright. He kept getting better and this proves it even more.
5/28/2006 8:53:50 AM
I'm not quite sure how players that committed to Sendek decommitting (sp? eh) is proves he was getting better, but then again, people on both sides of the argument have been shown to be pretty stupid.

FIRE HERBFIRE BASKETBALL COACHFIRE BASKETBALLFIRE EVERYONE
5/28/2006 9:01:50 AM
^^Losing the recruits means nothing towards Herb. It is the fact that 2 top 25 players, probably McDonalds All-Americans were gonna come here and play for him that proves things were going up.
5/28/2006 9:05:11 AM
LET IT GO
5/28/2006 9:05:48 AM
Herb would have just ruined their careers anyways like he did to Scooter
5/28/2006 9:17:24 AM
^^Oh so Im suppossed to be happy about the fact that our coach isn't our coach yet?We are going to lose our best player in Simmons early, we might lose Ben, we already lost Larry Davis and probably Dan Werner too.^Did you watch the games? Scooter was not THAT good. He could not play defense at all until his senior year.
5/28/2006 9:21:34 AM
It's always the players who screwed up, never Herb's proven system that has won championships at the NCAA and NBA levels...oh wait.Herb sucks. His system sucked. He was a terrible floor coach. He was content being uncch's and dook's and even wake forest's bitch. He's gone. What's the point of crying like little girls over this?If Turner was in love with State, hopefully Lowe can work some magic and get him here. I mean really, some of you were content with 10 years of mediocity and now you won't even give the new coach any leeway or slack just because your precious herbert has left town, on his own might I add.[Edited on May 28, 2006 at 9:34 AM. If they wanted to come to State because they liked the school, the tradition, or even the RBC Center, then they'll still come.If they wanted to come here only to play in that system, I don't want them. It's really that simple.
5/28/2006 9:42:26 AM
^yep, thats right, and by the way Horner is officially coming, seems excited about running an up tempo offense

^ But he had 9 top 25 classesDoesn't that count
5/28/2006 6:56:32 PM
do you really think those two guys would have played to their potential if coached by herb sendek?
5/28/2006 7:09:50 PM
It's amazing how dickless these herb supporters still are. They have a complete inability to evaluate risk-reward and make a decision based on that.He is gone. You lost. Let it go.

^^ If you're happy with merely getting into the tournament then I suggest that you transfer to Winthrop or any other mid major university.Herb went to a place where people can appreciate Waluigi's concept of success, which is pretty much like claiming you're the CEO of IBM while serving as a mail clerk.

5/29/2006 11:40:38 AM
you would think people would want to play for a coach thats had success in the NBA, though
5/29/2006 2:55:47 PM
I think the RBC had a lot to do with Herb's recruiting to tell you the truth. He was a good recruiter, but I have no doubt that Lowe (especially with Harris, who was Herb's best recruiter) will bring in the exact type of kids Herb did. It sucks to lose possible players such as these, but hopefully Lowe can reel some of them back in. I'm not going to get all upset over it, though. Herb always recruited top talent. He won a lot of games with it but I'm not going to think that this class would "put us over the top". I've said that for years and it's never happened...eventually you come to the realization that talent wasn't our problem[Edited on May 29, 2006 at 3:09 PM. Reason : ]

Herb was great at taking potential stars and and castrating their athleticism for his precious offense. that is why Powell left, Mike Bell left, Wilcox didn't come, and Tucker was overlooked, people got tired of that shitso here i stand, a former Herb supporter, now saying without any sarcasm
5/29/2006 3:09:17 PM
Wilcox wanted to come to State from what I can rememberWe chose Mike Bell over him. Kinda like we chose Cliff Crawford over Steve Blake ^ And I agree. Herb wasn't the best talent developer out there. This talent he "had" coming in probably wouldn't have lived up to expectations that NC State fans are notorious for giving people before they ever set foot on campus. They look impressive in high school, sure.... but history has taught me not to expect great things from recruiting classes[Edited on May 29, 2006 at 3:13 PM. Reason : ]
5/29/2006 3:10:48 PM
we could've gotten both Wilcox and Bell

i cant stand that whole "dumbest posters in this whole board argument"its used like 50 times a day, and there is no way you can possibly narrow one out of like 25000 users
5/29/2006 3:46:51 PM
well, yeahsomeone should really make a top 25 list or something[Edited on May 29, 2006 at 3:56 PM. Reason : .]

Hahaha, I won't be able to sleep at night, knowing that some anonymous sniveling leftwinged loon on an internet messageboard does not approve of me. Oh how will I go on living?
5/29/2006 4:31:26 PM
bravo
5/29/2006 4:36:59 PM
i take it day by day. i dont get my hopes up for anything. i do expect improvement, and guess what? we hit a wall and i admitted that. i was pretty vocal at the end of the season about herb not being the man for the job, so shut the fuck up. did we suck? hell no, we were consitently an average acc team who wasnt going anywhere. i was optimistic that we would get over that hump, but we plateaued. however, i dont expect us to go out and win a championship every other year and beat unc and duke. that is unrealistic. duke has put together one of the best dynasites in acc history over the past 10 years. unc consistently draws name recognition, which helps them recruit the best players. we are average right now, probably below average now that we have a new coach who is unproven at the college level. thats the truth, not being defeatist. just because im not some stupid homer who sits around growling about liberals and hurb all day doesnt mean im not realistic, you nitwit.now shut the book on herb and get back to finding new reasons to be mad at france or some kennedys or something.[Edited on May 29, 2006 at 4:44 PM. why are people still talking about this?isnt it football season yet?

We could not have gotten Wilcox and Bell...we could not have gotten Wilcox period. We wanted Wilcox more...but he was bought and paid for to Maryland. Not to mention his academics were extremly suspect. We wanted Chris bad...he liked us...but there was no way he wasn't going to Maryland. We messed up with Cliff Crawford and Steve Blake...but Cliff was ranked higher and I would have had a tough time defending Steve Blake being our team for 4 years...fucking punk.

5/29/2006 11:50:57 PM
Yeah, WIlcox would not have been accepted at NC State from what I remember reading.
5/29/2006 11:54:45 PM
^ he hung in there at Enloe, i think he would've made our academic requirements
5/31/2006 6:02:39 PM
you don't actually think he did his own work???
