ok so i suck - let's just preface everything with that

need to change out the y-pipe in my car - bolt off/bolt on operation - the bolts are on a lot tighter than anticipated - and i've gotten half off - but the other half are pretty much impossible by my standards with standard tools (car is raised on ramps currently) - in the process of putting a wrench around one and hitting it with a hammer - i'm fairly certain the bolt is not able to be taken off with a wrench/socket without some serious teeth on it

can anyone help for a cheap price and/or beer - i need to leave town today by 5:30pm - i'm off of kaplan and can be anywhere asap in raleigh - if not by then - i'll be back in town on sunday by 2pmish i believe

go out and buy yourself a can of PB Blaster and the longest breaker bar you see. They have a 36" breaker bar at Northern Tool. It's one of the best automotive tool investments you'll ever make.

i have an equivalent to pb blaster - i probably need to get a breaker bar

neither of those are very helpful on a stripped bolt

I'm slammed today. I'm actually in the office today until around 6 or 6:30, then back home to work on a Camry, and then off to the nOg to work the door until 2am. And then back up to be at work at the parts store @ 8am.

I want sleep badly.

BTW, what kind of car is this? A torch works wonders on exhaust bolts...IF you can get the area hot enough.

yes, pb blaster and long extension are awesome recommendations... It took an old bike shock and all my body weight to get the bolts off my downpipe. My ratchet cracked a few times and looked like it was about to break (but it's a craftsman, so I wasn't worried... free replacements). But, stripped bolt will need some special tool...

i heard it from one of our mutual friends - he said sutton told him he's joining the military - i left him a voicemail yesterday bitching at him but he never called back

the midas guys loosened the bolts for me - now i can't get the fucking bolt off that connects whatever sensor/wires are hooked up to the y-pipe - it's been a long day

i want to yank it off - i'm so fucking angry at it right now - not like i can drive it back up to get this bolt loosened either - the whole pipe is off and just connected by this little wire/bolt

There should be a plug that you can unplug, Then you can get to it a lot easier to remove. You'll need a 7/8" wrench. A really big adjustable wrench (so you have a lot of jaw surface area) can do the trick. A regular 7/8" open end wrench will most likely slip (not enough jaw area).

There is also a slotted socket made especially for O2 sensors.

There was also this stuff we used to have at the garbage truck garage I worked at in high school. Called Curtisol or something. Made by some Curtis company. Shit worked BANGIN...

ok so what i have might not be a 100% equivalent - but it is made for the same application

it's not a huge noticeable difference - it's just another piece of the puzzle i want to upgrade to increase the airflow - was $199 shipped with the group deal

for the engine i just had a CAI prior to this - next is exhaust & ecu (was just cracked recently and great results) - the el cheapo exhaust is ~$4-500 shipped and the one i want is about $800 - the ECU is $495

nowhere near to the level some of you guys take your cars but it's getting there slowly
