I bought a roofrack and some accessories that came with locks..now I need to get a key made for them. Anyone know where to go to get this done?

I'm pretty sure you have to get them from yakima. You can call REI, and they'll tell you exactly who to call.

well, i was just on the yakima site...they need the 4 digit code on the lock itself...but my locks dont have any numbers on them...they only say "Belgium" on the side.I'm guessing maybe these arent original Yakima locks? If not, do you know of a good locksmith around that can make a key for these things?

I don't think you can put anything other than yakima SKS locks in their SKS cores. It's been a while since i had one, but i think you have to pull the lock out of the core with the flat key to see the 4 digit code. I'd call yakima and they can probably help you. It'll be cheaper than getting a locksmith for sure.

ohhh...that makes sense...i was wondering why my locks didnt look like the ones on teh website, haha...i need to pull them out of the housing thingies, lol. Thanks man.

well dammit...i just tried taking the lock ring off the back of the lock, hoping that'd get the lock core out...but I guess there's more to it. I emailed Yakima...waiting to hear back from them if there's anything I can do...

if the lock is unlocked, you can get the yakima blank key to take out the cylinder. the code is probably on the back.

i bought the entire set of racks/towers and stuff on Ebay. They came with locks, but the owner didnt have the keys.

prolly are stolen...along with half the other shit on ebay.I've already ordered a key though...i had to use the "master" key to take the lock cores out and get the # off of them.
