Any X files fans here? I got the whole series off of EBAY on dvd last year....I think I might go through an X Files phase for the next few weeks. What are some good episodes to watch?

I like the one where something strange is going on, but Scully is doubtful of Mulder's explanations.
5/22/2006 11:26:27 AM
Haha...i think i've seen that one...
5/22/2006 11:28:51 AM
the only one i have ever seen is the one about the Baseball playerwhere he says all the good ones were aliens
5/22/2006 11:32:41 AM
I watch that shit err times it comes on TNT when the the NBA is over from like 2-6 amI hate the ones where T-1000 is in it instead of Mulder

I always like Home (better known as the Peacock's episode) just for the sheer disturbing nature of that episode.
5/22/2006 3:25:08 PM
I like the one with video game vixen that comes to life, and the one where they are in hollywood
5/22/2006 3:38:57 PM
The episode Beyond the Sea was set in Raleigh. Not filmed there, but set there.

I'm up to Season 4 now. Gotta order Season 5 online and have it shipped. Love this series. One of the few I will pay money for to watch on DVD...

Here's another good one: Detour. Can't remember which season it is, either 4 or 5. But that was the one with the invisible boogymen down in a Florida forest. They're near-transparent, except for their eyes that glow red in the dark. One of them was chasing this kid through his house. Seeing that thing appear scared the ever living shit outta me.
5/22/2006 9:02:26 PM
"The Field Where I Died" From season 4 is my all time favorite episode
5/22/2006 9:51:46 PM
the great mutato episode is titled The Post-Modern Prometheus from season 5. Detour is also from season 5. i happened to watch both of those episodes tonight haha. i got on an X-Files kick a couple of months ago and started watching the episodes in order. currently on season 5 now. some episodes that come to mind:Season 1: Ghost in the Machine, Ice, Space, Darkness FallsSeason 2: Soft Light, Dod Kalm, The Host, Humbug, SleeplessSeason 3: Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, War of the Coprophages, Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space', QuagmireSeason 4: Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man, Tempus Fugit, Max, Home, Small Potatoes, Never Again, Unrequited,

I never understood all the excitement over Ice, it fine, it just seems like pretty standard sci-fi fare nicely done and all, yet it seems to often be mentioned as a standout episode.

If you don't want all the special features, they are now realeasing slim case versions of the season sets (minus the last disc that is all bonus features) for about $45.99 but you can get them on Amazon for $34.99. Oh I think they also might have removed some of the commentary track/deleted scenes on the remaining discs (not sure) but the episodes themselves are the same quality. That is a damn good deal for all the episodes if you're just a casual fan. I payed the high price for seasons 1-7 but couldn't justify it for 8 and 9 since they weren't as good. But for $35 I'll do it to round out my collection.
5/23/2006 6:52:39 PM
yeah im working my way up... ive got seasons 1-3 right now.
5/23/2006 7:34:29 PM
Tunguska an episode from the fourth season are probably my favorite. Arcadia from the sixth season was pretty funny. But I haven't watched these episodes in years.
5/24/2006 12:21:55 AM
The Simpson's episode with Mulder & Scully was on the other night (where Mr. Burns was mistaken for an alien, with Leonard Nimoy in the episode as well).
5/24/2006 1:23:19 AM
well..that's a bleepin' dead alien if I ever bleepin' saw one.

i like x-files. i really like the episode with alex trebeck. i think it highlights how aimless that job would really be.
6/18/2006 10:17:34 PM
X-Files episodes fall into two basic categories:1.) Conspiracy/Cover Up/Truth is Out There episodes, which I never really cared forand2.) Fucked up random shit, which I much prefer.Examples of the later include the tapeworm man that hides in portajons(I look every damn time now). I also really like the episode with the three inbred brothers who try to breed with their mother. That was a seriously disturbing episode. I think about it every time I go into an old barn or farmhouse these days.I stopped watching after the late 90's, but it was at one time the scarriest show on television. The original episodes were shot in Vancouver, IIRC, giving the show that dark, overcast, greyscale mood. The actors all bitched until filming was moved to bright, sunny California, which kinda ruined the show for me.

just finished up season 5 the other day followed by the movie. i really liked these episodes a lot:Chinga, Unusual Suspects, Detour, Kill Switch, Bad Blood, Travelers, Mind's Eye, Folie a Deux. All Souls had potential but i thought it could have been a lot better.the dialogue was hilarious in Mind's Eye and that doll in Chinga is still creepy as shit. in the middle of season six now.

Are the X-files Mythologies dvd boxes pretty much just a collection of episodes from the series' seasons that coincide and are on the same subjects? Such as abductions, etc?
6/19/2006 4:33:55 PM
