dude, you can drink on the sidewalks down there

if you go in a bar - you can ask for your drink in a plastic cup and drink it outside. and they have palm trees.

hell no. that place is always ridiculously crowded and overpriced.

same "southern cookin" you can get at a hundred places locally but like 3x the price.

skip it.

Oh man, definitely eat at her restaraunt, Lady and Sons, but don't get the buffet. The menu has some awesome seafood, I got a porkchop stuffed with crab and lobster. And the maccaroni was soooo damn good. Put your name on the list and go next door to the irish pub and drink, thats what we did.

The waterfront is fun to go and laugh at trashy\redneck people, there are some decent bars there.

Oh, we took a haunted house tour, a little cheesy but there was some good stories and you get to go in old historical houses.

Its a fun place

Dear God eat at her restaurant. That has to be some of the best Southern food I've ever had. I don't know what she put in the mac n' cheese but I think it was crack.

i was down there a couple of weeks ago-one thing i wanted to do was visit the wildlife preserve, but i ran out of time. i think they have alligators

overall, i thought savannah was an ODD mixture of pseudo-hippies, yuppies, and art kids. ie i think half the people at the mellow mushroom there (which is like one of THE places to hang out; yeah i don't get it either) don't realise it's a chain.

there are a bunch of tours you can take; i dunno how much touristy stuff you want to do.

i went to tybee beach, which is umm half an hour (?) away. we went at night, so that was fun.

umm...if you can rent/borrow a bike while you're down there, it'd prob be nice (unless the weather is superhumid and gross) savannah is a lot easier to get around in by bike (those stupid squares are like having traffic circles every five feet). the people at the Bicycle Link were really nice (my borrowed bike had a messed up tube). I think it's only $20 for a 24 hr rental.

if you're on the riverfront, some homeless person will probably make you a palmetto rose. and then ask you for money.

i didn't go to any museums while i was there, but i am SURE there are some good ones, especially b/c of SCAD.

It is a lot of tourist, but is not THAT overpriced, unless you are a cheap bastard who cant really afford to be in Savannah anyhow.

A younger crowd usually hangs out at THe Wearhouse, wet willies is cool place too.

I would agree though, there are some great bars/bands that play in the market square area. And do expect for homeless people to make you a rose .... keep walking

I didnt' say Savannah was overpriced. All that I am saying, is go a few blocks back and recieve a higher quality food and service. The waterfront is a tourist trap. Sure it's fun for St. Patty's day, but walking a few blocks away to get away from the tourist trash is worth it.

Instead of Paula Deen's go to The Olde Pink House. Pricey, but delicious and also haunted. When I was there two weekends ago, the line for Deen's was wrapped around the block.

Bars: I loved Molly MacPherson's. Wonderful.

Tybee would be fun if you're wanting to go to the beach, which I am sure will be crowded.

The town is usually smelly because of the paper mills, but when I was there over Mother's Day weekend, it didn't smell. Maybe they shut down around holidays

I live here in Savannah. The place to eat is Tubby's on Thunderbolt and Ms. Wilks House. Ms. Wilkes blows away any other southern themed place here in savannah including Paula Dean's. DO NOT go to her brother's place, Uncle Bubba's, it sucks.

For a good bar go to Kevin Berry's on Rover St. For Seafood downtown you can not beat the Pink House but as someone else said its not cheap. Also, 1790 is a great resturant but pricey. There are alot of good places to eat but Savannah is not a cheap place fyi. You can still have a blast here though, its a very European city in many ways. I live between here and the UK right now and there are alot of smiliarties.

Early = 9am, because by 11am the line is around the block to make dinner reservations on a holiday weekend.

Get the "call a cab" at Wet Willie's

^ lady and sons used to be great but now they suck because they have to mass produce everything.

bubba (her other resturant) is better but it's towards tybee's island.

tybee's island got a few nice resutrants (Tango's is my fav)

Savannah is ok, the problem is that you can spend a whole day in Savannah and see and do everything.

Bar Bar is fun but not if you're tall.

Paula Deen's place is over-rated. Go to Sapphire Grill next door.

definitely check out SCAD, its pretty neat even if you aren't a design freak.

Tybee Island is great but WILL be crowded this weekend. If you get in trouble there, let me know, I'm in good with the whole city council, and the city Marshall
