i'm not interested, but just to clarify, is it the whole house for rent, or just one side?

I am pretty sure every member of TWW has filled a keg cup behind that house.
5/30/2006 4:44:14 PM
is the inside of the house trashed?
5/30/2006 8:08:38 PM
Hey now....I am the landlord and I most definitely do NOT suck! Anyway, a few points of clarification:There are 2 townhouses. Each side has 4 bedrooms and 2 finished basement rooms. I won't deny that there have been a few parties there. I used to live there and had some parties myself! The way the house is designed keeps most of the parties that happen behind the house and under the garage. There's a bathroom in the basement, so that keeps people from tracking up and down the stairs and trashing the upstairs. Regardless, we rent to responsible students and for the most part have been very lucky to have good tenants that keep the place nice. (It's no fun trashing your own place!) We always have to fix some things of course, along with paint and clean carpets. Short story long: Yes, the house is nice on the inside.UPDATE: Both townhouses are available 8/1 for $1585 each. There would be an independent lease for each townhouse.[Edited on May 31, 2006 at 7:45 PM. Reason : [sp]]

Would you ever think about renting out individual rooms? I have one friend also looking for a place, but I doubt I would be able to find two other people.
5/31/2006 9:09:36 PM
I lived there for a couple years, moved away since it was getting mad ghettoish in the neighborhood.Walk out the back door and through a path to get to the disc golf course, which is nice.I would negotiate a lower rent price though considering the neighborhood. Its a decent house, all kinds of space but it was built a little lot on the cheap side. Not a big deal though if you're student or whatever.^They used to do individual leases there, but probably don't any more since the place got trashed when they did (I'm speaking of one side now, not both). There was no accountability for a few years so the last people to move out (ending the individual lease phase of renting) got screwed.

I've never rented to any tenants using individual leases. Personally, I think it's a much more peaceful living arrangement when you all are friends and move in and move out at the same time. If you don't fix things every year or so, then things get run down. It's much easier when all the tenants move in and out at once. Our place is not run down and we don't want it getting run down.

Don't the gay crackheads live right across the street from there????

^ Yes, I am aware. But I am most interested in renting MY place. However, I am considering managing the other side too. I know that you know me, and I think you will agree that I was NOT an "absent landlord"
6/1/2006 11:08:06 PM
Well actually I prefer absent landlords, until I call them But yeah, you seem like a decent guy, and if you managed the other side too that would be a positive thing.Good luck renting the place. I enjoyed living there...might want to take pictures of the back balcony too.
