When I connect either my digital camera or MP3 player to my computer using the USB cable, I can't get the device to show up in My Computer as a drive. I don't think there's a problem with the actual connection and/or driver installed because when I look in the device manager, both devices show up and appear fine (no exclaimation mark or x's). I also have a card bus that I can insert my camera memory card into, but ever since they BIOS was updated, I can't get the computer to recognize the inserted media as a drive to access either.Any suggestions?

Try a different USB bus/plug on the computer. (if you have a usb printer plugged in thats working, try that slot and plug the printer into a different one.)Check your drive letter assignments for them too. (right click my computer, manage, disk manager option on left...) Check your drive letter assignments once the device(s) is connected.

in a windows ME computer(diff OS kernel though) i saw the device in device manager, but couldn't get a drive letter assigned to it automatically no matter what i tried.Clicking on properties and manually assigning a drive letter, and rebooting let me explore the drive.probably won't work. if all else fails, try reloading the previous BIOS flash. google can find anything...if everyint fails, boot from ERD commander or Ultimate Boot CD and you can probably explore the drives. restore xp. mmmm: fresh install...
