Simple question. I haven't been able to see any of the damn Battlestar Galactica epsiodes since 2.0 ended, so I wanna watch the rest. However, I'd rather watch them in full surround sound and on a nice big TV instead of the stereo and 19" LCD I have on the PC. But I've never downloaded shit from iTunes before, so I dunno what format they are in? Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question, but this would be an alternate solution:

Do you think that the iTunes videos are encoded with surround sound? Do you think they look better on anything bigger than an iPod?

Solution: download good rips from bittorrent, burn those to discs.

^I have no clue what res they are recorded at or anything. It was the only place that I seemed to be able to find the damn things esp. since they have no ETA on the DVD.

Gracias.

I can't find shit for these shows on Ares, and I have yet to figure out BitTorrent. Guess I'm gonna have to learn.

the quality of itunes videos is usually better than torrents....but not worth putting on a tv to watch---if thats what you want youre better off buying the dvd or finding a torrent iso

I don't know what kind of shit ass torrents you've been downloading, but 95% of everything I've ever downloaded has been in HD with 5.1 Surround sound. I've never downloaded anything off iTunes, but I can't imagine that anything made to be watched on a 3 inch screen with headphones on will come remotely close to the quality of the torrents out there. Unless you're talking about torrents of VHS captured old episodes of Diff'rent Strokes. But I don't think those are available on iTunes anyways.

^ I call BS on that.

For BSG at least, with a medium-level of looking, only the first season was mostly downloadable in HD format.

The rest of the seasons were in crappy SD rips, with quality no better, and often worse, than iTunes.

even in SD, at 320x240, a decent tvrip is helaciously better than the video quality on iTunes.
