^^ still at IBM eh?

i've never worked at IBM.I unfortunately do use Lotus software products.Altho props to the sametime support team. They're actually pretty good. But to explain my situation at the moment it goes like this.Company A hosts a secure, internal web app for us. The network setup is:our term servers -> switch -> vpn tunnel -> them -> webserver. So makes sense right?unfortunately, the ip addressing scheme they use for their private network is reserved out on the intarweb. In fact, the ip address belongs to a router of a japanese ISP.So traffic was hitting the switch, deciding that the intarnet was the better way to go, and sends the packets to the router where it dies.So i call the dude up, he acknowledges that its retarded and that he was against doing it. Hes gonna set me up some nat and just be done with it.Its nice when people just realize exactly whats going on and how to fix it.

my bad I thought I read somewhere in a thread a while back that said you worked at ibm. I was there for 6 years and worked with some retards, now I'm at a different tech. initialed company and I swear it's the same GD retards.

5/18/2006 4:58:59 PM

5/18/2006 4:59:22 PM
hahahI wouldn't join IBM as a full time anywaycontractor maybe...but not full timeI have seen so many people at IBM work on shitty projects with no growth prospects all their life.
5/18/2006 5:00:30 PM
yeah you probably got the same feeling seeing that that i did when i saw your untouchable momma begging on a street corner in bombay.
5/18/2006 5:06:15 PM
i haven't had any problems here yet - but i agree that it's not a lifetime commitment - the new healthplan this year is hard to beat
5/18/2006 5:08:22 PM
what's the starting salary there for Tivoli/Websphere?My roommate started at less than 50k after a master's
5/18/2006 5:12:15 PM
what year did he get hired? everyone i know starts higher than that with just a b.s. - even people who join test / support teams
5/18/2006 5:15:27 PM
he started last year in July...graduated in December, and I think they're trying to get him to be a regular full time employee instead of a supplemental.
5/18/2006 5:16:59 PM
youre roomate must be an idiot. I started of there making more than 50k without a 4 year degree and my 2 year degree was in Emergency Medical Science..
5/18/2006 6:35:03 PM
I dunno manwhat's the average salary there?I am thinking anything less than 70k for a master's graduate is shabby
5/18/2006 7:19:51 PM
i dunno, i was just being an asshole
