Long guns should take about 20 minutes.
For handguns it takes 1 week.

my background check for work took about a week, but i've moved a lot in the past 7 years, so they had to run it for different cities...which they said takes longer.

so i don't know if it was that or if they were lazy...but that's how long it took for me

What kind of background check. The security clearence check for DoD works take a few week since many of the people you know have to be interviewed in person.

How much background do you have? I mean, what are you like 22, 23? I'd say 1-4 weeks on average.
