I have just bought a new laptop and am looking to sell my old laptop. Its a Dell 8600 - in great shape - and has a all the bells and whistles. Only two years old. Would be great for anyone in undergrad or graduate school - especially for GIS apps.Where can I get the best price for it? Ebay? Craigslist? Suggestions welcome!

Circut City has an Acer for $800.http://www.slickdeals.net/#p7517I'm sure it's got comparable/better specs. Go ahead and post what you've got, so you can prove your 2 year old, probably out of warranty, laptop is a better deal for $90 more.

I've always sold my laptops on eBay and haven't ever had a problem...just disable folks w/ negative feedback from bidding and watch closely for "(0)" bidders and email them ASAP to confirm their seriousness. Usually get more than I expected.

The truth hurts. If you get $890, then you're most likely ripping someone off. gg.

I just bought a 1 year old dell laptop that, when purchased, was as pretty close to top of the line as you can get. I paid $800 for it. If you get $890 for a two year old laptop, please let me know who buys it, I've got some stock I want to sell them.]
