I know that if you don't complete an incomplete, it turns into an F. However, I retook the course this semester, fully expecting a grade. I looked today to see if the professor had entered grades, and all I saw was an S. Ok, hooray for passing, but wtf. I was expecting a grade, I worked my ass off to get a good grade, and all I get is an S?

Is this just a placeholder so it wouldn't turn into an F while he was finishing the grading? I checked the policy on Incompletes, and it didn't say anything about S or UN. I thought the IN was replaced by a grade... I emailed him about it, but has anyone ever had this happen? I'm kinda worried... I know I did awesome, and want the points to boost my GPA dangit.

Are you sure that you didn't accidentally sign up for the class as credit only? S is the grade given for passing a credit only class.

What he said. It is possible the instructor incorrectly entered the grade the second time around. Verify you are signed up for the course as a grade ... and you already emailed the instructor, so wait for a response on that as well.

If you did sign up for credit only ... you need to see your advisor.

I took it in Spring 2005 for a grade. I stopped going to class as I knew I was going to fail. However, the instructor didn't fail me, but gave me an Incomplete. So I retook the class this semester; it wasn't on my official course schedule, but the instructor knew I was finishing it from 2 semesters ago.

So yeah, gotta wait for the email, or go talk to my advisor, or something.
