It's already all full. I was signed up for summer 1 for econ, but I ended up needing to take something else in that slot. So because econ in summer 2 is full, anyone know how they are with letting people in econ classes? Or should I just find something else. I wish they offered upper level programming classes summer 2, or at least more csc. I need one more csc to complete my major in csc, then it's time to finish the mechanical engineering degree.

Ok, done rambling.

please please tell me you're kidding

if you want to be smarter than 90% of the american population in regards to prices, fiscal policy, and how the market works, take an economics elective and pay attention.

its very helpful

the stuff you're gonna learn in a beginner level econ which is most likely what he would be taking is so general that it's really not that helpful

take a personal finance course or something like that

i would consider taking beginner level econ if you want to take upper-level econ electives. you usually need those to sign up, and some of the upper-level classes can be really interesting/useful.

email dr. lapp in the econ department (john_lapp@ncsu.edu). if there is anyway of getting into that class, he will probably do it for you.

and i would also second that recommendation of BUS 225 (personal finance) as a really good class to take.

200 level are basicly worthless, but if you go into the 300 levels, it gets much more interesting especially ec302. it will make you a lot smarter in the real world and you'll learn that politicians are more bullshit than you think. in fact 99% bullshit.
