I just want to say that as much as I like "The Poseidon Adventure" of the 1970's, this remake is due for a huge failure based solely on how desparately they are trying to promote it. And that's too bad.

um we all saw titanic like 8 years ago
5/10/2006 9:20:54 PM
Fergie's in it...at least now she can have a valid excuse for being wet...
5/10/2006 9:24:58 PM
all i can say is the movie is directed by Wolfgang Petersen. That's enough for me to check it out. Aside from being German Wolfgang also brought us a lot of good shit.Das Boot, In the Line of Fire, Outbreak, Air Force One, The Perfect Storm, Troy, and he is working on Ender's Game.

^ Hey, preaching to the choir. Just saying--it's NOT selling itself.

I have a love/hate relationship with him, but mainly just due to the buildup of hate I have for Troy.Das Boot was great, though.

5/11/2006 12:43:04 AM
Does Hollywood plan on coming out with a non sequel/remake any time in the next decade? Cause I might want to see a movie like that.
5/11/2006 7:46:17 AM
anybody else watching this movie tonight (thursday)? A lot of theaters are having 10pm showings.
5/11/2006 10:11:59 AM
Disaster movies (natural or otherwise) are really tiring.
5/11/2006 10:23:52 AM
They're showing The Poseidon Adventure on AMC tonight at 8, by the way.
5/11/2006 6:18:58 PM
What is that, like, a prequel or something?
5/11/2006 6:24:52 PM
OMG, like totally.
5/11/2006 6:50:04 PM
If Jake Lloyd's in it, I'm down.
5/11/2006 7:36:27 PM
No one who kills Agamemnon and Menelaus can be easily forgiven.
5/12/2006 12:53:26 AM
Seriously. I remember watching this short little thing about how invested they were in reading The Aeneid to make the script, etc. They apparently never even read it or The Odyssey.
5/12/2006 1:17:44 AM
I just got back from it. Pretty good. Dollar-Fiddy the hell out of this when it hits Blue Ridge.
5/12/2006 1:20:56 AM
i think the special effects and cheesy laughs gets this movie atleast a matinee price ticket if you aint got shit better to watch
5/12/2006 3:17:16 AM
^^^yeah, my kids were pretty confused when we read The Odyssey bc they had seen Troy and they would argue with me about details. stupid kids.
5/12/2006 7:35:31 AM
What's funny is that, in sequel-crazy Hollywood, it's inevitable that they make The Odyssey. How will Petersen explain their mysterious resurrection???
5/12/2006 9:12:14 AM
so does anyone actually get out of the boat alive in this movie?
5/12/2006 9:16:38 AM
5/12/2006 6:28:43 PM
Chris likes this movie a lot more than I did, but i still thought it was pretty damn entertaining
5/12/2006 8:12:25 PM
awful really, Plot-Holes are us and some shitty shitty shitty CG in more than a few placesand don't even get me started on the kid. Also take note of the blatent PSP and mountain dew product placement.
5/13/2006 12:05:40 AM
did i read somewhere this movie cost 200 million to make???
5/13/2006 2:17:57 AM
It's possible, although I'd imagine what you read was wrong.
5/13/2006 2:19:12 AM
ok I did some research and its estimated to have cost 150-200 million dollars. Though most places said it was around 165 million.
