Potential graduation present from the pops, which would you choose:lifetime memebership for the ncsu alumni associationnew tag heuer watchor other suggestions ~ the same price rangeI havent really worn a watch consistantly since HS, mostly b/c couldnt find one I liked within my price range at the time (~150 then, obv. has changed now). Not really sure what the alumni association membership details.lemme know kiddos[Edited on May 10, 2006 at 10:05 AM. Reason : e]

how about lifetime rights to football?
5/10/2006 10:12:22 AM
There's really very little benefit to the alumni association other than knowing that you're contributing. There are some events that they do every now and then, but I've never participated in any of them. I'd go for the watch.

im moving up north in june, so that wouldnt do much good unfortunately (that was my original idea)[Edited on May 10, 2006 at 10:14 AM. Reason : e]

^i say money for the watch, then spend it on something else
5/10/2006 10:15:07 AM
Yeah fuck giving it to the university
5/10/2006 10:18:02 AM
the membership
5/10/2006 10:25:35 AM
TAG Heuer is hot.
5/10/2006 10:47:41 AM
I would go with the lifetime membership. Then buy your own Citizen Ecodrive watch.
5/10/2006 10:57:40 AM
how much does the lifetime membership cost?and which model Tag are you looking at?
5/10/2006 10:59:14 AM
Depends. Both my fiancee and I are alum ... significant discount if you both join at once.
5/10/2006 11:04:54 AM
meh i wouldn't go for the alumni thing. but then again i was never a big ncsu promoter (woudn't have been for any school). only thing i see that you get from it is the regular communications begging you to donate more money. ok and the occasional soiree but then i'd never attend one myself. personally i'd opt for the watch. a good, classic watch will last you years.
5/10/2006 11:06:21 AM
pic of the tag would be helpful.personally i'd opt for a breitling or a rolex.
5/10/2006 11:49:50 AM
GET THE TAG
5/10/2006 11:50:45 AM
Go with the COUG Heuer.
5/10/2006 12:02:38 PM
go for the watch...i got one for graduation and i love it
5/10/2006 12:04:37 PM
Ha ha. You had to ask.Get the watch.Or something else. But fuck the alumni association.
5/10/2006 12:15:34 PM
5/10/2006 12:51:36 PM
Get the Lifetime membership + one of those hot $400 NC State watches in the Alumni magazinesike get the TAG[Edited on May 10, 2006 at 1:12 PM. Reason : .]
5/10/2006 1:12:08 PM
Yea, I think you (or your dad) have probably given enough money to the university. Go for the watch. You really don't get anything with the alumni association except an email address and a newsletter.I would prefer a Citizen Ecco Drive Titanium, but get what you like. But a good watch will last you forever.
5/10/2006 1:25:50 PM
Who wants a watch to last forever?Besides, those dial watches are gonna be obsolete in a couple years when technology permits us to communicate using watches.
5/10/2006 1:34:27 PM
i don't wear a watch, i wear a chronograph
5/10/2006 1:43:33 PM
Classic lines of an analog watch will never go out of style.Just go buy your $5 casio from wal-mart and stay out of a serious disscussion.
5/10/2006 1:51:41 PM
brietling
5/10/2006 1:53:19 PM
hahahahI wear a gold watch so plz to shut up about Walmart with me.But seriously, have fun wearing that "classic" new model dial watch at a beach.
5/10/2006 1:54:16 PM
i didnt buy a dial face watch cause i just know that someone is going to come out with an electronic watch any day now
5/10/2006 1:56:57 PM
you kids and your tags
5/10/2006 2:14:38 PM

5/10/2006 2:18:07 PM
5/10/2006 3:53:10 PM
the TAG is nice if you play tennis, but if you like to smash VAG and drive european cars really fast I'd opt for either a brietling or a rolex . . .
5/10/2006 3:58:39 PM
^ the man has a pointand everyone likes smashing VAG
5/10/2006 5:44:24 PM
i enjoy my tag watchgo for the watch
5/10/2006 5:46:16 PM
I'm w/ Amsterdamfor the recognizability along, go Rolex or Brit
5/10/2006 5:52:50 PM
Well, come see me when you're ready And for what it's worth, my choices would be:Breitling, Panerai, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Tag HeuerFor the $1000-1500 budget, you need to stay with the Aquaracer Tag... so, one of the top two of the pics shown above. The others are out of budget, with the excetion of Kirium, which only 2 are left in production.
5/10/2006 11:30:34 PM
People, Breit and Rolex are WAY out of this price range. Its like recommending a Bugatti to someone looking at a 3 series.[Edited on May 11, 2006 at 12:23 AM. Reason : .]
5/11/2006 12:23:36 AM
I've always liked the Aquaracer, but if I bought one I'd always look at it and wish it were a Submariner.
5/11/2006 12:30:33 AM
I like the next to last one
5/11/2006 12:40:41 AM
Why are you so stuck on Tag?Check out Bulova and Gucci and some others too.
5/11/2006 12:51:10 AM
rolex daytona. jk[Edited on May 11, 2006 at 12:54 AM. Reason : just don't get a battery operated tag heuer.]
5/11/2006 12:54:12 AM

5/11/2006 1:08:57 AM

5/11/2006 1:20:38 AM
be like dick tracy!
5/11/2006 3:06:07 AM
I have the Kirium F1 (the last one) and love it.
5/11/2006 8:06:51 AM
i like the next ot last one, too
5/12/2006 6:59:26 PM
i don't understand this shit with giving watches as graduation presents. i guess it made sense back in our parents' and grandparents' youth, but that custom is pretty irrelevant now. no one really puts much stock into a person wearing a nice watch nowadays. you should try to get something much more practical. in no particular order, i'd rather have the following before a watch or even a lifetime membership to the alumni association:1. a car, or a downpayment2. stocks, bonds, or other investments3. lasik surgery (i wear glasses now), or whatever surgery you need/want.4. a nice summer vacation to europe and/or asia5. some nice suits (to wear during a job search, or for a jump start once i start my career).[Edited on May 12, 2006 at 7:04 PM.
