giving me hell for "assuming without just cause" that he was on roids...playing the bullshit "innocent until proven guilty" card...then its exposed that he told the grand jury that he used steroids, though "unknowingly"...where are all the naive suckers now?
5/10/2006 1:16:01 AM
Hate to say it but the man has a point.
5/10/2006 1:16:53 AM
bonds is gay
5/10/2006 1:18:12 AM
Juan Pierre was my FAVORITE player tonight even though he is a Cub! Fuck Bonds. Most of us baseball fans have known this for while now.
5/10/2006 1:19:50 AM
not that macgwire and sosa and others arent probably just as guiltybut BONDS ADMITTED TO THE GRAND JURY THAT HE USED STEROIDS...no more speculation now...Pete Rose would've been in the Hall before he was confirmed to have gambled on games...so what if Bonds pre-99 might've already earned a HOF spot
5/10/2006 1:22:06 AM
I think all the recent ones are guilty as sin, and there should be an * beside each one.
5/10/2006 1:34:27 AM
I support Barry Bonds.
5/10/2006 1:44:26 AM
i support ROIDS, who wants to shoot up?
5/10/2006 2:22:56 AM
I hate Bonds* as much as anyone, but how in the living hell does this deserve its own thread?[OLD]
5/10/2006 2:36:00 AM
Get off the juice , man.
5/10/2006 3:01:47 AM
I'm not sure who actually claimed he didn't use steroids, but he played by the rules MLB laid out. It isn't like he was the only one, or in a small minority of players who used. He was the best hitter of the steroid era...no better, no worse. You always have to judge people against different eras, be it due to drugs, corking, changing the ball, or difference in talent. It's stupid to single him out because he was a better hitter than all the other guys using steroids.
5/10/2006 6:15:10 AM
the man has no point because barry bonds is a cheater
5/10/2006 7:28:48 AM
Don't blame us for your innate misunderstanding of our argument. No one was saying he didn't do it because it hasn't been proven. Merely, that you can't punish him until it is proven he broke MLB rules at the time they were in place. You get so pissed off at the site of Barry Bonds though that you just ignore our entire position.Btw, I hope he breaks the HR record just to piss a bunch of people off.. I'd laugh.
5/10/2006 9:02:06 AM
they should pass out * flyers at ever away game he hasi bet people would hold that shit up when he comes to bat
5/10/2006 9:03:57 AM
It doesn't matter if it wasn't against MLB rules. Steroids have been illegal since the early 90s. Quit making that as an excuse for Bonds. He knew he was in the wrong when he used.
5/10/2006 9:07:03 AM
Then arrest him. If MLB COULD do anything to make his numbers go away they would. Selig hates him and the actions they are taking now make that pretty clear -- (i.e.- no MLB event planned). I'm not defending the guy. I've disliked him for a long time. Show me how MLB CAN punish him for using at the time? If I'm wrong I'll freely admit it but I just don't see anyway how they can do anything for using steroids at a time they weren't a MLB banned substance. Please point me to something that shows I'm wrong..
5/10/2006 9:10:36 AM
hahaha dont even try to say you're not defending himand this thread is directed at all the naive idiots who basically swore up and down that bonds never juiced and that all his muscle mass and head size gain was natural from protein supplementsbunch of suckers
5/10/2006 9:20:04 AM
why couldn't they have listed steroids as a Schedule II drug. I know the baseball drug policy had any Schedule II drug as banned.
5/10/2006 9:22:22 AM
As bad as it sounds before the heat came down on the Steroids, MLB was complicit. They knew post strike that they need something to re-energize the sport in the non-traditional markets and the long ball was what could do it..
5/10/2006 9:23:51 AM
chicks dig the long ball
5/10/2006 9:28:37 AM
Pitchers should start going after his knees. There should be no penalties for doing so. Bitch wears more amour to the plate than the cast of Medieval Times anyway.
5/10/2006 9:30:08 AM
Bonds can't hold his breath for 8 minutes and 50 seconds either...his head wouldnt even fit in David Blaine's bubble
5/10/2006 9:31:27 AM
barry bonds is my favorite baseball player.
5/10/2006 9:32:59 AM
Babe Ruth hit more homeruns in less at bats
5/10/2006 9:41:18 AM
the only performance enhancing drugs babe ruth needed were whiskey, steak, and penicillin
5/10/2006 9:46:40 AM
i hope he hits 800 homeruns. white people's heads will explode.
5/10/2006 9:48:23 AM
i hope he hits a million homerunsI BETCHA I COULD THROW A FOOTBALL OVER THOSE MOUNTAINS
5/10/2006 9:49:04 AM
I BETCHA BABE RUTH COULD HAVE
5/10/2006 9:50:06 AM
The greatest comment on this topic in Sports Talk history goes to Stein:
5/10/2006 10:11:46 AM
when he passes ruth, i'll be happy for him... and i think taht whatever park he's at should do something in his honor... is that supporting enough?
5/10/2006 10:17:31 AM
LET'S POSTPONE THE MLB SEASON WHEN HE REACHES 2ND PLACE CAUSE AMERICA ONLY CARES ABOUT 2ND PLACE
5/10/2006 10:27:25 AM
5/10/2006 10:42:29 AM
...i think we're at a misunderstanding here...by "something in his honor", i mean flash something on the billboard... make an announcement while he runs the bases, maybe let his wife and kid on the field for a quick hug...i don't mean to halt the game for 10 to 15 minute while he basks in 2nd place...this is more in recognition of him passing an "icon" than him making 2nd place...frankly, i find the "don't celebrate 2nd place" arguement to be very lame, especially since him passing several others was noted by the MLB... it just looks like a very sad excuse for people to use when they don't want to admit that they just hate Barry Bonds... it's ok, you can hate him, nobody's going to blame you for it... but quit hiding behind bs and just say it
5/10/2006 10:43:57 AM
i dislike Bondsand if all you're talking about is flashing something up on the scoreboard when he passes Ruth, then sure, thats fine...but why do you need his wife and kid on the field for a quick hug? did Duke let JJ's parents on the floor when he became the ACC's second leading all time scorer?the only thing lamer than my "dont celebrate 2nd place" argument is ESPN's perpetual bonds nut riding about every fucking homer since 700if somebody in the NBA scores more career points than Chamberlain is it gonna be Sportscenter's top story for 3 weeks? No because they'll still have like 8,000 points until they pass Kareem
5/10/2006 11:02:37 AM
When Kobe became, what, 2nd or 3rd for most points scored in a single game he got a lot of hype for about 2 weeks.
5/10/2006 11:10:49 AM
could the same be said about Duke Lacrosse?
5/10/2006 11:37:39 AM
that is to say that no one wanted to believe they were guilty, and immediately chanted innocent until proven guilty.
5/10/2006 11:39:45 AM
right herewhat's up
5/10/2006 11:49:47 AM
I Support Bonds, greatest player I have ever seen, up until Pujols.
5/10/2006 12:05:07 PM
I don't like Bonds, and yes I think Pujols will take care of business and reach the HR record later on, but Bonds get the hatred treatment, while Jason Giambi is considered a hero to many. Remember, he also admitted to using steroids. He also got comeback player of the year last year.
5/10/2006 12:10:49 PM
i dont like giambi eitherbut for what its worth, he admitted his steroid use
5/10/2006 12:24:59 PM
pujols > *
5/10/2006 12:29:14 PM
doesn't matter now, people will always remember he cheated
5/10/2006 12:53:27 PM
i hope he breaks the record so people will shut up about it.
5/10/2006 1:07:59 PM
I hope he plays 10 more years, hits 1,246 homeruns, and continues to antagonize the goddamned mediaand for you fuckers that think that game (note--baseball is my first love) ever had integrity, go fuck yourselves, or get a quick history lesson on the game.
5/10/2006 1:16:13 PM
I think we can say for sure he will not be playing for 10 more years.
5/10/2006 1:21:12 PM
oh of course notthat dude is beat the fuck upstill one of the greatest hitters to ever hold a stick
