I need to choose between a wireless USB connectionor just buying a PCI slot wireless card for my desktopneed to move my desk and stuff around, but it would be too much trouble to move the cat 5 cable already in the room and I don't want cable run on the floorI already have a wireless router for laptops in the house

USB will be much faster than your internet connection is, so you won't be slowed down.

If you're going to be sharing large files on your local network and you have Wireless G, then you're going to want to make sure you have USB 2.0 on your computer.
