I woke up this morning to my alarm going off, looked out the window, and saw this guy pull OFF of my car, then drive away. I was like..damnit. Since I live in an apartment complex, though, I knew who it was.SO, I went back to bed Two hours later, I got up and went outside, checked out the car. It was all beat up on the back corner, cracked the panel inbetween the tail lights and the bumper (Perfect opportunity to have this piece painted btdub...).Then, I went over to the kid's girls house, and he answered the door. I said "You drive the montero, right?" He says "Yeah..waht's up?" I told him "You hit my car this morning" Him "Oh really, I didn't even feel it!" - very sincere.Long story short, I was like alright man, get your insurance card out, we're not taking any chances with this one. So I filed a claim...and we'll see how it goes. Wish me luck - I just bought this damned thing.Mike

Ah, no. I got rid of the Roady.....I've got a 99 Camaro SS now....and I just bought the damned thing like a couple weeks ago. Mike

haha cant stay away from the f-bodies. that sucks (the guy hittin u). the guy got caught in his lie and finally admitted it. how can you not feel owning a vehicle, it was only a shitty montero.[Edited on May 8, 2006 at 9:15 AM. Reason : .]

The f-bodies are addictive The M roady wouldn't have cut it for track (read: dragstrip) use haha.yeah i don't know..I think that was just instinctual. It was right before his exam too, i think I made him late He was a cool kid otherwise. I've talked to him before. Mike

OMGWTFi'll kick his ass.

Just be glad you got lucky and saw who did it...I drive my S2000 or bike most of the time, so my winter beater Civic stays pretty dormant unless I have stuff to haul around (yes, my Civic is my cargo vehicle, lol). But I was inspecting the S2000 after getting it washed two weeks ago when I noticed a nice big crack in the Civic's bumper that wasn't there before. Bumper will have to be replaced, tail light cover is badly scratched, and rear quarter panel is banged up pretty bad. It was high up enough that it had to be an SUV. I'm guessing about $1,000 damage right when I'm about to sell the thing. Nobody heard anything or saw anything, and the bastard didn't leave a note. And I park this thing in the very corner of the parking lot just so people won't run into my crap. There is no reason for people to go down there anymore. My roommate and I have 3 cars and 3 bikes between the two of us, so we park the bikes in one spot and block them in with the cars. So someone managed to do this on one of the rare occasions when there was a path through. I hate people sometimes!

Every car I've owned has been fucked all to hell by parking anywhere near NCSU.[Edited on May 8, 2006 at 10:59 AM. Reason : not that it actually has anything to do with anything]
5/8/2006 10:50:21 AM
^^ that sucks ass - yeah, I was lucky to know who did it. He was cool about it, but understandably, didn't want to admit that he'd hit it. WHo the hell knows, maybe he didn't feel it after all. The whole back of his car is already crushed in from hitting whatever the hell he's hit previously - both corners at that.^ Haha, understood. Seems to be what happens around here. Mike

glad to see you back in an Fbody. I like the look of the Trans Am's better though...
5/8/2006 11:17:11 AM
As do I BUT, the reason I went with this, is that it's got nearly everything I'd like the car to have. It's worth the money in parts alone Mike
5/8/2006 11:29:56 AM
you replaced an m roadster for a camaro?
5/8/2006 11:33:10 AM
not for, with. And completely different logic.Don't worry about it if you don't understand it
5/8/2006 11:44:47 AM
yeah i meant withits still
5/8/2006 11:45:28 AM
pics?
5/8/2006 11:58:57 AM
I don't have pics except on my cell phone right now; i don't even want to look at it to be honest. It pisses me off.And the only thing sad is the fact that it got hit Obviously, there are many differences between the Roady and the Camaro, but I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by this one, especially given its constraints as a big, heavy car. I miss the braking abilty the most though. Mike
5/8/2006 12:06:39 PM
i mean they are good at what they do, i could just never get bast the camaro styling
5/8/2006 12:09:44 PM
Yeah, I understand that.To be completely honest, I never really liked th ecamaro styling. If it did't have the SS rear fixture on it (and the hood, to boot...) it wouldve been too bland and I wouldn't have bought it. This one's a right purty camaro though, bo The Bimmer definitely winds hands down when it comes to styling, though.
5/8/2006 12:45:42 PM
hate that for ya *envies the guy who got your ///M*hope it all works out though...that's such an annoyance
5/8/2006 1:24:06 PM
5/8/2006 1:36:23 PM
cha ching, everytime ive gotten hit it means $$$$
5/8/2006 1:43:02 PM
Haha, I'm not gonna screw the kid. We'll see how it goes. But yeah, I know whatcha mean chris. Mike
5/8/2006 1:48:22 PM
...which prompts another question. Does the actual amount I take out of his insurance company (i.e. 1,000 vs. 2,000) make a difference in how much his insurance goes up?
5/8/2006 1:48:54 PM
^ I believe so. I mean it makes sense.
5/8/2006 1:54:06 PM
Haha, yeah i'd expect it. I mean i'm sure like if you bumped a car vs. throwing two cars off a cliff it would make a difference, but in incremental terms, didn't know if it mattered as much. Mike
