I've been using Microsoft SQL Server Management Express to connect to a MSSQL remote database and good lord it's slow doing things.

I walked over to a friend who is running linux and BAM it opens fast. I forgot the name of the tool since I don't use linux.

What I'm looking for is a slim gui interface client (doesn't have to look pretty just work well). I need to create tables, add/remove columns, edit data, run quick queries and thats about it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I've used Squirrel SQL before, using it with Oracle and MySQL, I assume it works just as well with MSSQL too. http://squirrel-sql.sourceforge.net/
