shrug i never have done webpage design and i did fine. affordance is a general design term for interfacing/ergonomics/etc.

this can summarize web design:- an good ui is necessary for a good site (good content != good site)- know your message before you design (otherwise your site will suck cuz it's promoting the wrong thing)(from the business prospective)- you must sell yourself before the customer buys your design- balance code reuse/bleeding edge coding techniques with functionality and speed (customers care about time to implement and usability)
