http://chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/3835656.htmlHouston firefighters are standing by for the emergency landing of a of a 50-passenger Continental Express jet at Bush Intercontinental Airport, an airport spokesman said today. The Embraer jet blew its left rear tires on takeoff.``It blew a tire on takeoff and is circling the airport now,'' said Rich Fernandez, a spokesman for the Houston Airport System.'Aerial video of the plane showed the left tires on the landing gear nearly stripped of rubber. The plane tried to land once, but was waved off. It was ordered to do a second flyby of the airport so officials could assess the damage and allow the plane to burn fuel before it could land, said Continental Express spokeswoman Kristy Nicholas. The pilot was circling the northeast Houston airport, and was expected to land CRASH sometime after 6 p.m.

That's not too bad. They should be able to land with just one of the tires without crashing. The other one should hold out if they land easy enough and slow down slowly.Of course if they land hard and slam on the brakes they might blow the other one too and THEN you'll probably see the thing slide off into the dirt.Hopefully they won't do that.
