I've looked on the apple websight and tried all the troubleshooting tricks to fix my ipod but I can't. The website seems like it takes every step to inconveience you from sending it in for them to fix. Does anyone know what you need to do to send it in. When I tried to send in my serial number and then my password an error appeared and the site would not load so I just want to send the damn thing in, any help?

I had no problems sending mine in... the turnaround time was like 2 days. All I had to do was do the support request form on the website, detailing all the steps I did to solve the problem myself (I was 100% sure it wasn't user error), then I got an email the next day saying a box was on the way, the box came the next day, and I mailed it off the same day, 2 days later, a fixed/new iPod arrived (not sure which it was, I think it was new though because there were less scratches).

However, if in your support request, it doesn't seem like you tried everything, you'll get an email saying to call AppleCare (which you should probably do anyway, if you thought the steps were an inconvenience).

I have (unfortunatly) had to send my ipod in 3x now, no hitches.
fill out the webbased form,
they send a box with packing material and instructions inside,
send back said box w/ ipod enclosed,
they send back a working ipod (so far I still have the same ipod, they also cleaned it)..

I guess they would if yours can't be fixed easily.

I guess it could have been a refurbished one that they polished the back of to remove any fingerprints from it, and put the sticker over the screen and rewrapped it in the plastic thing that has the instructions in all the different languages. It looked new enough to me... no scratches or fingerprints.
