Working on my formula sheets right now. I've got the first three tests down, and am working on the notes. Does anyone think we'll have questions from set 3? The problem set is all Matlab, but there is some stuff at the end of the set that's not Matlab (filter design difference equations and stuff). It wasn't on the test. Anyone think it'll be on the final?

Also, I've compiled a list of the crazy stuff Dr. Alexander has said throughout the semester. Just for fun, here it is:

"Cumquat will not be on the test."

"Condogenate"

"I can't do an infinite number of things in an infinite number of dimensions. But I can try. And get an E for Effort."

"Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Comparator!"

"Trans....?.... contrinental railroad?"

"High pass? Low pass? Gas pass?"

"I don't own a car and I don't own a comb. I don't own a tie."

"VOIP? You've heard of VOIP? Vermont Ostrich Insurance Program"

"What quality? Troll quality? Troll quality teaching?"

"FDM - The Federal Department of Monkeys"

"...Conservation of FUNK!"

you forgot:
the game of "electric chicken"!

..if it's not matlab, it's fair game.. i'll probably use the 3 tests as a guide..

does anyone have a completely correct answer to #1 for test 3?

he did it when he gave the tests back, but i think he forgot to multiply by a half, or maybe he didn't...i don't know.

Test1 #3: whats the equation for s(t)? s(t) = 4*sinc( 2e6 *(t -t1) )

I think the sinc is supposed to be timeshifted to the right, if so are we supposed to assign a value to shift or leave it as t1?

haha, for number 3 on test 3, I didn't use that formula he went over in class last Friday. I did a direct integration: HX(a) = -Int(fX(a)log2fX(a)da,-inf,inf)

Just put that in my calculator and boom, out pops 3.047 b/symb

yea for #4, auto correlation = A / (B + tau^2) where A = (2*alpha*k)/((2*pi)^2) and B = (alpha/(2*pi)^2)

so set B = 10^7, solve for alpha, then plug alpha and 10^6 into A's eq, solve for k. Py(f) = Ke^(-alpha*|f|)

and total power = Ry(0)...i hope you got that part

#18-6, just one an, just one wn, one theta-n???
