i have a flat spot on my motorcycle rim that causes vibration at around 50mph after that it smooths out. at 160 it is relatively smooth as well. i dont feel like shelling out 250 for a used rim off ebay.. is there a place that repairs rims? this rim has a flat spot on the right side.

how the hell would you know how it feels at 160and yes, i know of a place that does that. but only if it's a flat spot, if the rim is warped you're fucked.[Edited on April 27, 2006 at 10:16 PM. Reason : lol]

Who the hell would push a damaged rim to 160????

i did, past weekend. fun stuff. only mine's warped.

are you sure that carb'd R6 will run 160?
4/27/2006 10:41:25 PM
it would easily do 160 indicated, and i think they'll run low 160s actual (if not, then very close to it)

interesting, the guy i use to ride with has a 600RR that will only get 152, and that thing is a rocket - knowing it has around 105ish whp stock... and then i guess gearing and total weight factor in too[Edited on April 27, 2006 at 10:49 PM. Reason : meh]

haha, my [chicken]Hawk flat stopped near 110. but boy was it fun. i miss it. may it rest in peace. (or pieces) .....(dorry)

My KLR will do about 105 on knobbies. Who wants to race...off road?

i've done 160 indicated on a YZF-600 (it prob had a few mph left, but not a lot), and 170 indicated on a GSX-R 750 (definitely had a little left). I guarantee that even an early R6 would hit 160 on the speedo, and I think it would do it in actual mph (barely, though).

hurley, the hawk is getting fixed this summer. throwing 95 katana forks on it. buying a new rear fairing etc. it's going to cost a lot but it will be good to go by the end of the summer.where is the place that will fix the rim?guys that use gps shit on their r6's on r6messagenet.com hit 160-165 on their r6's (carb'd) till they peter out. same with the fi'd ones before the redesign of the engines. the newer ones, dunno how fast they go.the wind prevents the bikes from going faster at that speed. it still has rpms left just not enough hp to get it up there. im guessing my hit 160 bc i was topped out in 6th tucked in for a good 5 minutes.the rr isnt that much faster than an r6. it feels like a rocket because of the fuel injection. i was right behind a guy on his 600rr as he got on it and i reeled him in a lil, of course he has 1 up in the back 2 down in the front or something.. reguardless most 600's run identical and the differences are minimal[Edited on April 28, 2006 at 1:06 AM.
