First of all, this is most likely not possible and just a wild fantasy. The possibility of being able to put a filter over the lights at night. The idea occured to me after looking at this picture.(I know it wouldnt look like this)What would happen if you were able to cover the lights(or just put in front of the lights) clear red plastic or some such material to make the light on everything red. You would want to have the plastic stuff close to the lights so not much white light would get out to the surroundings, but far enough away so it doesnt melt. Additionally it would need to be tight enough so that wind doesnt blow the material into or near the lights but not so tight that it rips or threatens to rip the material. This would NOT be used all the time, just in critical game situations. For instance on big stops, or last minute drives. Or just when our team needs motivation. I mean the only light source would be from the lights, so it wouldnt be to dark to see.I know it would be interesting but I dont know what it would actually look like. And I DONT KNOW if that is illegal according to NCAA regulations.Problems include keeping the material relativly clean and breaking down due to the elements and general cost. But WHO ELSE HAS ANYTHING LIKE THIS?!?!Major concerns:LegalityCost/Upkeepdiscuss27, 2006 at 3:41 PM. Reason : g][Edited on April 27, 2006 at 3:41 PM. Reason : TO MANY EDITS]

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT ON THE RED LIGHTWOOOOOOLFPACCCCCK
4/27/2006 3:37:30 PM
that many red gels could be fucking expensive not to mention the system to remotely put them in place
4/27/2006 3:40:45 PM
You wouldnt necessarily need one for each light. Maybe a big sheet of whatever over each grouping of lights.
4/27/2006 3:42:01 PM
why not just have two bulbs. one red and one regular bulb per housing, kind of like in a car's lights. just have one switch for the regular bulbs and another for the red ones.[Edited on April 27, 2006 at 3:43 PM. Reason : ]
4/27/2006 3:42:49 PM
or just put the red filter on top of the field itself.
4/27/2006 3:43:38 PM
RED ROOF!!!!!!!!
4/27/2006 3:45:53 PM
4/27/2006 3:46:55 PM
true, they have to warm up.
4/27/2006 3:47:31 PM
you know how hard it would be to see on the field
4/27/2006 3:47:52 PM
^thats just it, I dont know how bright it would actually be. And it would be good to be hard to see for the offense(being the other team) As as far as being bad ass, you would of course need the wolf howl being played as the red sheets were drawn over the lights. forget the logistics...forget the cost...our stadium is almost a white color...you would be dousing it in red light...in other words...our.stadium.would.look.pink
4/27/2006 3:52:24 PM
yesbut dudewhen teh games overyou could totally grow p0t like it was going out of style
4/27/2006 3:54:07 PM
Let's just paint the grass red and have a red turf
4/27/2006 3:58:42 PM
This would make many school's uni's look black (including UNC) if they wear their colors, & they'd look pink if they wear white. ^It's be easier just to put in red field turf (since you can buy it any color you want)
4/27/2006 4:09:43 PM
This is the worst idea ever and I could not imagine the flaming we'd get from the media and other fans/schools if we actually tried this shit.
4/27/2006 4:22:54 PM
I say we install FieldTurf JUST FOR THE BC game, so we can spray it down before kickoff and their players slide around like hell.....
4/27/2006 4:24:08 PM
"Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secure"
4/27/2006 4:25:03 PM
4/27/2006 4:32:54 PM
Something like this would be awesome.... Not for use in the games or something, but for instance......Team runout, and player intros....That would be something cool. Also, red light is not bright at all, i doubt the game would be able to be played.
4/27/2006 4:38:07 PM
how about just a huge big red spotlight?
4/27/2006 4:42:24 PM
^. it would be awesome. exactly what i was thinking above
4/27/2006 4:43:55 PM
WOOOOLFPACKKKKKK
4/27/2006 4:45:47 PM
PUT ON THE RED LIGHT!
4/27/2006 4:47:29 PM
aha i made this picture i while back
4/27/2006 4:48:11 PM
redrum?
4/27/2006 4:54:20 PM
man what would be sweet is if we had two of those huge lights that go back and forth, like the ones used at big car dealerships or during an event in downtown Charlotte. you can see those things for miles. well make em red right, and have them beside the stadium somewhere as a beacon to Wolfpack fans during a night game. hey at least the people who are really drunk will be able to find their way to the stadium. Possible scenario 15 minutes after kickoff in the student lotJenny: "Hey Becky where's the stadium at, I'm way to drunk right now. I can barely walk."Becky: "Just follow the big red lights. Oh and I'm drunk too girl. You're the best lil' sis a sorority girl could ask for."Jenny: "Wait there are two of them and they're going back and forth. Which way do we go? This is so confusing."Becky: "Just go in the general direction."Jenny: "You think the people at the gate will realize we're really drunk?"Becky: "Nah that's why we've got these big bug-eye sunglasses to hide our drunken faces for."Jenny: "Oh I knew it was for something besides fitting in, and trying to be trendy."

haha, well, absolutely you cannot have lights like this during a game, and more realistically like others have said, it won't really workred light is fucking expensive to produce in a good quality---take the belltower for example. There are four likes on it to make it glow red, and that cost $100,000 a while back. To make a large area, w/ so much open air between the field and lights, glow red, you would have to double the number of lights and make them all red. It's really not feasible. Plus, you would have ot have the motorized shades for the white light like they have in the RBC Center. Now, if you were to replace the banners that are attached to the bottom fo the upper deck w/ a light video board like the RBC Center has, and add the motorized shades, we might be taking feasible. But, never during a game. For the same reason you can't do that shit during a basketball game. There are clear NCAA rules against using your facilities lighting to distract players on purpose during a play. It would only be allowed during player entraces.
4/27/2006 5:40:15 PM
so you cant just put a piece of red plexiglass over the white lights?
4/27/2006 5:42:11 PM
no, because the lights aren't the right kind, and their strength will wash out...they just can't produce the right power and focusbut, I do love the idea, because I think it would be fucking sweet...I get chills in the RBC Center when they wash the arena in red light...I can't imagine that w/ 60,000 fans[Edited on April 27, 2006 at 5:44 PM. 4/27/2006 5:43:34 PM
this is the most retarded idea i have ever heard.
4/27/2006 5:44:24 PM
i say let's get a big light like the batman signal, but make it red with the wolf howling profile image. now that'd be hot before a night game, during halftime, and after a win. [Edited on April 27, 2006 at 5:46 PM. Reason : oops night game]
4/27/2006 5:45:26 PM
It would probably get kind of toasty in the stadium with these as well
4/27/2006 7:50:14 PM
u gotta have cloud coverage, or the bat signal is just useless
4/27/2006 8:05:20 PM
just come out of the fucking locker room, enough of this tacky WWE bullshit with crappy metalcore and 10 minute player introductions and fireworks
4/27/2006 9:01:07 PM
but a damn wolf signal would be cool as hell.
4/27/2006 9:04:00 PM
they make the bell tower red
4/27/2006 9:04:59 PM
how about we just have the team wear helmets with wolf snouts and ears coming out of them?and put tails on the pants of the uniforms.
4/27/2006 11:48:02 PM
and make the visiting team sit in straw housesbut when they take a 10 point lead they get to move to a stick houseand if they get to like a 21 point lead, they just move into a brick house
4/27/2006 11:52:25 PM
^^^^
4/28/2006 12:48:18 AM
i can't find the logo or whatever it was, but yeah it's red with like the Thundercats emblem, and it has a black outline of a wolf howling towards the bottom. does anyone else know what i'm talking about. please tell me that i'm not crazy or dreamt this.
4/28/2006 1:23:38 AM
umthe wolfline logo maybe?
4/28/2006 1:35:07 AM
nah this one actually had the profile of a wolf howling upwards, but hey the wolfine logo isn't that bad actually.
