well so much so for the offense..http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/stewart_mandel/04/27/top.programs/index.html5. N.C. StateTop prospects: DE Mario Williams, DE Manny Lawson, DT John McCargoTalent factories (cont.) Other likely picks: CB Marcus Hudson, LB Stephen Tulloch, LB Oliver HoyteWhat does it say about the Wolfpack's offense that despite boasting a defense that produced the top two defensive ends in this draft -- including potential No. 1 pick Williams -- and as many as six overall draftees, N.C. State went just 12-11 the past two seasons.and we are above MIAMI..

has TJ really slipped that far!wow

After last season, Yes.

i figured at least getting invited to the Senior Bowl would mean that a few teams were looking at him
4/27/2006 2:17:06 PM
Teams looked at TA too... But the article lists guys who should be drafted. He may be drafted, yes, but it's a big maybe. So he wasn't included. They don't really care about marginal talents.
4/27/2006 2:19:51 PM
WHICH OF THESE IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER? look at all those other teams around us...and what they did with their talent...
4/27/2006 2:24:40 PM
We didn't get blown out by 40+ points against LSU in a BCS bowl
4/27/2006 2:53:49 PM
I agree on the TA evaluation thing. and i think TJ is going 3rd round. Still think he will do ok. He is big isn't he? and a good catcher and blocker..
4/27/2006 2:55:27 PM
He's not that big (6'2" with a soft body)...and he's a mediocre catcher and a mediocre blocker. This draft is LOADED with good tight ends.TJ will go mid to late second day (possibly not at all).

Sean Berton was about the same talent wise, probably a little better, and he played a few years with the vikings. Not sure where he is at now though.

^^ Very well said. This is a draft full of solid TEs and TJ is not one of them. Most of the projections I've read have him in the 6-7th round or not being drafted at all.

^^^ Berton was with the Giants since last season.

The difference is those other programs have quality depth everywhere. We just had a few stars at a couple positions. It's also important to note how all of them developed into NFL caliber players while here. I think only Mario was obviously NFL bound when he got here.Obviously, QB is a huge issue. QBs in the ACC have all sucked, recently. I suspect it has something to do with the class that left with rivers.

i loved TJ as much as anyone else, but two words:BC game.nuff' said.

home boy had bricks for hands last season. he was just JD's favorite target cause it was always a short pass

being invited to the senior bowl was probably a bad thing for TJ. He stunk it up some kinda horrible while there
