I am a happy man...JDM Catless Uppipe (top pipe) after spray, but before being heat wrappedHelix Catted Downpipe vs. Stock DownpipeBellmouth vs. Stock comparisonDownpipe InstalledI already have the Accessport (off-the-shelf) ECU Manager by COBB Tuning (http://www.cobbtuning.com). They estimate about 285 flywheel hp (or 224 whp). Not quite STi level, but close. STi's come factory 300hp flywheel hp (or 238 whp). Haha , who am I kidding??? I'll never be STi level until I get a 2.5L engine, 6-speed tranny, brembo brakes, and killer suspension parts. Here is their dyno estimates for my type of setup (Turbo-back + EM):Power delivery of these two mods are incredible and smooth. I need to find an AWD tuner around this area and get it tuned and dyno'd. Supposed to be able to squeeze a little more out since COBB's off-the-shelf maps are very conservative. That's all folks, just wanted to share the experience.

BTW, did you ever get that fixed???^^^ ...Helix Catted Downpipe = $360 (on sale)JDM Catless Uppipe = $50 (nasioc.com classifieds)Heat Wrap = $50 (was hoping to get heat shields welded instead, but couldn't find anyone to do it)

4/26/2006 5:45:02 PM

^^^^ Let's race from a dig, in the rain, on street tires, to 20 feet On a side note, laughter can cure cancer. I think...As a trucker stops for a red light, a blonde in her car pulls up alongside. She jumps out of her car, runs up to his truck and knocks on the door. The trucker lowers the window, and she says to 'Hi, my name is Sharon and you are losing some of your load.' The trucker ignores her and proceeds down the street. When the truck stops for another red light, the girl again catches up, she jumps out of her car, runs up and knocks on the door. Again, the trucker lowers the window. As if they've never spoken, the blonde says brightly, 'Hi, my name is Sharon and you are losing some of your load.' Shaking his head, the trucker ignores her again and continues down the street. At the third red light, the same thing happens again. All out of breath, the blonde gets out of her car runs up, knocks on the truck door. The trucker lowers the window. Again she says 'Hi, my name is Sharon and you are losing some of your load!' When the light turns green, the trucker revs up and races to the next light. When he stops this time, he hurriedly gets out of the truck, and runs back to the blonde. He knocks on her window, and she lowers it, he says 'Hi my name is Kevin and I'm driving a sanding truck!!'Shall I go on?[Edited on April 27, 2006 at 9:31 AM. Reason : jokes anyone?]
4/27/2006 9:30:11 AM
i wasnt trying to be like that..... i just always thought the wrxs were tons better than my cari just drive a 1.8t
4/27/2006 10:38:05 AM
& what is it you've done to break 225hp at the wheels? stock turbo?
4/27/2006 10:55:54 AM
that was a horrible horrible joke. It didn't even make me smile.
4/27/2006 12:03:59 PM
actually a friend put down 235 in his 1.8t a month or 2 ago with a ton less done on his than mine.granted he is running the whole methanol injection, but stillalso, ill elaborate, my hp wasnt as high, but my torque compensates i thought214/256[Edited on April 27, 2006 at 12:52 PM. Reason : left out my numbers]
4/27/2006 12:37:49 PM
Oh crap! I just remembered, my inspection is due... hahahaha... I need to find a good place where they won't do a visual inspection (I don't remember if Jiffy Lube did that or not... hmmm). Any suggestions?
5/4/2006 11:13:10 AM
what won't you pass
5/4/2006 11:14:57 AM
having enough cats in the exhaust I guess
5/4/2006 11:16:01 AM
i'm about to remove 1 of my 3 soon - i assumed that if it passed the exhaust test then it didn't matter how many you had
5/4/2006 11:17:50 AM
If you think NC driving laws are stringent, check thishttp://www.revisor.leg.state.mn.us/bin/getpub.php?pubtype=STAT_CHAP&year=2005§ion=169
5/4/2006 11:19:34 AM
^ But, atleast MN doesn't have inspections Haha, their only exhaust law is that you shouldn't have a loud muffler:
5/4/2006 11:24:23 AM
yeah...they don't have inspections but they have laws about hanging stuff from your mirrors/windshields.And you can actually get a ticket if your defroster isn't working!
5/4/2006 11:27:07 AM
do you think maybe that's because it is frigid up there at least 6 months out of the year, and they don't want people creating an unsafe driving condition by driving down the road with a sheet of ice over their winshield?
5/4/2006 12:27:39 PM
Yes, Jiffy Lube passed my inspection... I noticed they DID look under the car though.
