He's big pimpin' now, buying an oil warmer and whatnot.

I still think he sucks.

But we needed him.

is Yahoo a legit source?

seriously though, I don't blame him. If any man's family needed the money, Ced's does. I hope he goes high up there and this doesn't prove to be a flop of a decision. And I hope he's sick-nasty in the paint...where he SHOULD be.

Yahoo is just reprinting the story. The actual source is Mike Decourcy of the Sporting News, which is legit. Decourcy was the first to report that State had made an offer to Steve Lavin (for whatever that's worth).

let's hope ben can step up next year in Ced's absence
i think ben had a better freshman year than Ced and didnt make as many stupid mistakes
and with Costner fully healthy i think'll we'll be fine without Ced
unfortunaly our bench will be totally depleted of big man unless brackman decides to play next year

without looking at the stats, i would say that that is because ben played less than ced did during his frosh season

Ben had the benefit of having an actual starting center on the team, meaning he was only in for garbage minutes. Ced didn't.

Ben's game looked solid--when he posted up, he could always get to the basket. Only problem was he couldn't get the ball in once he was there, but that's something that can be fixed.

He still has at least a month to renig, and, I really think he is going to once it sets in that he is a risky first round selection. He wont be a first round lock.

The first round is primarily for proven scorers (which he isn't...yet), excellent passers (which he isn't) or enormous size (which he does not really have).

I hate hatin on an NC State player, but I feel that he needs a season to improve on his scoring before he gets drafted high.

He may get drafted really high because this draft is going to be so soft inside.

Yeah, and teams usually employ that "can't teach size" mentality when it comes to drafting big guys over guards

That's like the class of '89 (I think) when Tim Hardaway slipped to 14 - Pervis Ellison, George McCloud, Stacey King, JR Reid, Randy White, Tom Hammonds, and Michael Smith all went before him, and Hardaway had a better career than all of them

(Chucky Smith went in the 2nd rd this year)

"The more important list to pay attention to over the next six weeks is the one that includes fence sitters who are trying to lock down first-round status and could hold their team's 2006-07 fate in their hands.

That group includes Washington, Arron Afflalo (UCLA) and Jordan Farmar (UCLA), Josh Boone (UConn), Ronnie Brewer (Arkansas), Shannon Brown (Michigan State), Quincy Douby (Rutgers), Nick Fazekas (Nevada), Daniel Gibson (Texas), Kyle Lowry (Villanova), Patrick O'Bryant (Bradley), Leon Powe (Cal), Cedric Simmons (NC State), Mustafa Shakur (Arizona), Curtis Stinson (Iowa State) and P.J. Tucker (Texas)."

Holy shit.

I hope you mean Chucky Brown! He played in the NBA for about 10 years.

He attends half of our games and still lives in the area.
