Is there a command line AIM client for linux, such that I could install it on my server, and then log onto my server, and use AIM over the command line?

ok so it's 3am in the morning and I'm bored at work so I decide to give this a try. Seems pretty useful, although it's 3am and no one is online to talk to. So I really can't give it much of a review. But I'll def. try it out when it's normal hours for people to be on.

^ I remember the first time I installed naim it added the author's screenname to my buddy list and sent him a "hi" or something. Was pretty weird.

I tinkered with the Perl module for AIM 3 or 4 years ago. Maybe that'd be of some use?

I forgot about this thread. I've been using NAIM at work for a few weeks now and it's ok. I wouldn't use it as my main AIM client but it works in a pinch. And it works since my workplace has ports blocked so I can't use the regular AIM, so I just ssh into my home PC and use NAIM from there.

btttI just DL'ed centericq (http://www.icewalkers.com/Linux/Software/514180/centericq.html)It has support for yahoo/msn/AIM/jabber/IRC/ICQ200.0 Its command line like NAIM, and so far seems to work pretty well. It gives your mail alerts for the account your signed in as, so that's handy.
