3 IBM scsi drives, 68-pin LVD/SE model... http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/dnes/dnesjum.htmthat link shows the jumper settingshow do i configure them to all 3 be connected on a RAID controller card? what jumper settings should I do for each drive? where on the cable should those drives be?the cable I have does NOT have a terminator on it... one end is to the raid card, then there are 4 ends for drives... only 3 drives, no terminator, so one is left. the drives can act as a terminator since they're the SE model, so it says.I can't seem to get them to show up in the RAID controller due to my misconfiguration.please help if you have experience with this.

J-4 #6: Enable SCSI Terminator?make sure you're skipping the spare connector and that the terminating drive is attached at the last (furthest from the controller) connector.

ok so when J-6 is on for the last drive, the raid card powers them up, then after they're all spinning it just sits at the bios screen and freezes.they all have separate id's and not the same id as the card.i can only get into the bios or boot the card when no drives attached[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 2:37 PM. do i have to put a jumper on #G? to enable the terminator power supply? or does that go on each drive? no clue here

nope, you don't need termpwr without external termination. Is the cable rated for the bus speed you're using, and ideally twisted pair? Reseat the connections, try getting it to recognize just the terminating drive. Every problem I've ever had with SCSI turned out to be the cable.[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 4:57 PM. Reason : *]

It is probably the cable heh, I don't know. It's a 68-pin cable going to 68-pin drives, figured that would be fine I'll try just 1 of the terminating drives.[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 5:40 PM. Reason : ]

only one of the drives should be set to terminate the bus, also... the last one on the chain
