2 2-run homers.....and he doesnt use the juice....thats what the majors is all about
4/19/2006 3:01:39 AM
He can't hold Pujols' jock
4/19/2006 3:02:44 AM
i believe he did last season....check the stat books buddy
4/19/2006 3:03:39 AM
i agree with this threadbut pujols won the MVP for a reason last yearhowever, i think if andruw were batting in a stacked lineup he would be untouchablewatch out hank
4/19/2006 3:07:58 AM
he's already broken hank's single season HR record w. the braves....why not go for the all time record....he's only 26
4/19/2006 3:13:39 AM
nohe'll be 29 in a week
4/19/2006 3:17:16 AM
Money would be on Arod to break the all-time record but he says he doesn't plan on sticking around that long.
4/19/2006 3:18:19 AM
i meant to type 29, my bad
4/19/2006 3:18:26 AM
money would be on a-rod to die in a fucking plane crash. i hate the foreign bastard
4/19/2006 3:18:58 AM
according to bill james' favorite toy arod has the best chance to do it and will likely pass 800 HRhe says pujols could also pass 800 but he's probably a few years older than what he's listed atandruw is a lock for 500 and has a reasonable chance of passing hanki don't have the numbers on me, but take my word for it
4/19/2006 3:20:32 AM
did he play for the braves?
4/19/2006 3:21:19 AM
andruw jones plays for the yomiuri giants i think
4/19/2006 3:23:14 AM
yes, hank aaron played for the braves
4/19/2006 3:24:37 AM
They should have renamed the Braves to the Atlanta Hammers.
4/19/2006 3:25:34 AM
If Griffey hadn't had injury problems he'd be shooting for around 10,000 homers when he retired.
4/19/2006 7:41:53 AM
10,000 hr's in a career? you're a fucking dumbass.....
4/19/2006 7:45:23 AM
Sarcasm...detect it.Idiot.
4/19/2006 7:51:11 AM
Andruw has more HRs than Hank did at the same age. If Jones continues his 50+ homerun seasons (and there's no reason to think this season won't be one of those), then braves players very likely could be the #1 and #2 slot of the holy grail of sports records. If Jones' BA was a little higher last year, the MVP was easily his. He's a little more consistent this year with around a .300 average. But yes, Pujols deserved the MVP last year. Jones' average w/ RISP was horrible last year... batting somewhere in the low .200s. That's what did it. I don't think the .266 average sunk him, I think it was the RISP average that did him in.But this year is a different story. Jones opens up when the other jones is on the DL.
4/19/2006 8:28:24 AM
So are we going to start a thread for every 2 HR game this year in the majors? Just want to know so I can keep pace..
4/19/2006 8:38:53 AM
Just because Beltran sucks balls doesn't mean you gotta come in here and ruin our party New York Mets, where careers come to die... at least for Beltran.
4/19/2006 8:45:59 AM
4/19/2006 8:47:17 AM
so my number of posts somehow discredits my knowlege of baseball? that's kind of funny
4/19/2006 9:00:41 AM
No. Rooting for a shitty team does though..V A-Rod is the best baseball player of our generation. The guy has it all. Pujols needs to AVERAGE 52 HRs a year to be on the same pace through 30 years old.. I bet it doesn't happen.. (he started a few years later though...). Too bad is a filthy Yankee[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 9:09 AM. Reason : x]
4/19/2006 9:08:04 AM
Andruw Jones will not touch Hank Aaron.Pujols and A-Rod will both approach Bonds/Ruth/Aaron numbers, but Pujols probably has a better chance because he is younger and plays in a better hitters park. A-Rod, meanwhile, plays in Yankee stadium, which might not affect him so much now, but as he gets older, it will (and the new Yankee stadium in 2009 will have the same dimensions). But there is no guarantee anyone will stay healthy. Everyone thought for sure Junior would break the record, but look at him now. A lot can happen in 10-12 years between now and the time any of these guys would be approaching the record.Bonds also will not break Aarons record either. Without the juice to help him recover, his knees are not healing right and he has no power.
4/19/2006 9:08:07 AM
rooting for a shitty team? i guess if you mean a team that has won the division for the last 14 years, produced one of the top notch pitching staffs of the last decade(minus this year), and is managed by the greatest manager active in the bigs.....then yeah, i guess i do root for a shitty team.....by the way....wasn't it our 2nd year pitcher that pitched a cy young caliber game against the mets last night?.....yeah....i believe it was.....go back to NY you fucking yankee
4/19/2006 9:10:45 AM
Mazzone was the best 'coach' in baseball. The Braves staff isn't exactly hot shit right now..Have fun looking up the standings all year hoss..[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 9:16 AM. Reason : x]

its early in the year boss man....the braves start slow every year....plus the mets suck anyway soo...7-1 braves last night....just wanted to make sure you knew[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 9:19 AM. Reason : asdf]
4/19/2006 9:17:53 AM
if you care to notice i said MINUS THE YEAR dumbass...you cant be the best for 14 years and not have to rebuild, and goddamn the state of new york, the yankees, the mets, the giants, the jets, and the knicks.....all fucking jokes for franchises
4/19/2006 9:18:05 AM
actually, Davies isnt even our 2nd pitcher....hes the last guy in the rotation(see Huddy starting today)......so that would make him like...our 5th pitcher behind: Hudson, Smoltz, Thompson and Sosa. Although after last night, i would move him ahead of Sosa.
4/19/2006 9:19:42 AM
i think you just proved your fucking lack of knowledge about anything with your last postthe yankees, although most hated, are the most storied franchise in history you moron
4/19/2006 9:19:58 AM
i didnt say second pitcher, i said 2nd year pitcher....meaning he has only been in the bigs for 2 years
4/19/2006 9:23:12 AM
and by saying the most storied franchises in history, you mean an organization with one of the highest payrolls in professional sports and doesnt have jackshit to prove for it in the last few years...then sure....theyre storied
4/19/2006 9:25:17 AM
i'm done because arguing with you is like arguing with brandopackjust ask anyone with half a brainmore storied franchise...braves or yankees/argument
4/19/2006 9:31:28 AM
back to the topic here, he is a monster (when it comes to homers), but he does hit around .200 every year.
4/19/2006 9:35:26 AM
oh there's no doubt there would be more talk about jones if it werent for the fact that he can't hit for average. He's only 28 and has all the tools, except for the ability to hit for average
4/19/2006 9:37:57 AM
That and the fact that he is a major league prick..[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 9:45 AM. Reason : I watch him on TV. That is enough for me.. ]
4/19/2006 9:39:05 AM
Cause you deal with him on a day-to-day basis.

4/19/2006 10:02:06 AM
I hate the Braves more than I hate Satan...and I have no interest in the NL East whatsoever.
4/19/2006 10:09:22 AM
well besides the HR's, Andruw is one of the best fielders in the game, Gold Glover every year
4/19/2006 10:12:33 AM
he hot dogs it too muchhe is way too nonchalant on his routine catchesi hope he dies
4/19/2006 10:14:20 AM
I love the fact he's nonchalant about his routine catches. He's a fantastic fielder. He opened his batting stance up last year. He's gotten used to it. I bet you he'll be hitting at or around .300 this year.
4/19/2006 10:31:45 AM
if i were a pitcheror a fan of some shitty 3rd place teamsay, the metsi would hate andruw jonesbest centerfield of our generationin his primeand he's always smiling when he's at the plateand not that i really want to start this shit up againbut i love it when mets/phillies/whothefuckever fans bring up the fact that the braves have only one world series in the streakbecause that's one more than your crappy team has[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 10:56 AM.
