About as entertaining as watching people dive for an outfield catch over and over again... oh wait...Seriously, 4 of them were guys running and diving/sliding for a catch... and every Top 10 during MLB is exactly the same. These plays are "above average" at best. And they all look exactly the same.... They showed Damon smashing into to the wall and that was worth watching, but diving catches in the outfield, which happen a few times a day, should not be a top play. Granted maybe it was just a slow day in sports...but come on, find something interesting...

Well I could care less about major league baseball myself, but how many incredible plays do you expect on a daily basis?

ah, the truly bad thing about the MLB dominated summer... no variety in the sports news...sure there's the occasional hotdog eating contest for them to foolishly spooge over, or maybe a soccer match or two, but other than that it's just baseball baseball baseball...so boring...

Remember that David Wright barehanded grab in shallow left field that was over his shoulder. That was a hell of a play...

oh look, a home runoh look, another home runguess what folks, another home run
4/19/2006 11:55:44 AM
I love baseball, but I agree with you on the highlight angle.I routinely made plays in HS like the ones frequently shown in the top 10.But some of em really are just amazing....you just gotta have a proper context of baseball to realize what is a great play, and what is just common.

Now now. The sliding and jumping catches are sometimes busted up a little bit by someone eating something at a county fair.

although i hate baseball too, its not much different than seeing 4 or 5 alley oops from nba or college on the top 10
4/21/2006 5:01:43 AM
alley oops >>> diving baseball catchbut really that's just a personal opinion.
4/21/2006 9:15:56 AM
This is a dumb thread. What are all of the top plays in the NBA - dunks. What about the NFL - catches and big hits. Of course you're going to see the same stuff over and over.
4/21/2006 9:30:17 AM
you're dumb.
4/25/2006 3:21:00 AM
rflong pretty much expanded what i was trying to say
4/25/2006 3:32:45 AM
also, during other seasons, there are other sports going on.if the top 10 was like 3-4 baseball, then some other sports, then it would be fine.but once you get into the heart of the season, at least 8-9 of the top 10 is baseball.don't tell me that doesn't bore you a little bit.
4/25/2006 3:36:54 AM
if you think a diving catch in baseball is = to a diving catch in footballi feel for you
4/25/2006 5:24:31 AM
I think that shortstops/2B catching or stopping rocketed would-be base hits is pretty cool, especially when they have to do the leg kick/jump/throw technique to make it to firstbut one of the guys said it on tv last night, some of these "diving catches" are merely guys making the catch then jumping outward onto the grassI used to do that on the second ken griffey game for super nintendo, it always made them comment about a "great defensive play"
4/25/2006 1:37:16 PM
i totally agree with this thread, i had no idea there were others out there that felt as strongly about it as i do haha
