ZCP because it's easier to clean
4/18/2006 10:27:06 PM
another pic of the ZCP. I am more inclined towards the ZCPs...but 2 or 3 people have said the SSRs are more trendy....
4/18/2006 10:29:12 PM

4/18/2006 10:34:23 PM

for the record, i think the SSR looks betterbut i still go for the more easily cleaned wheel
4/18/2006 10:58:19 PM
whats the price difference between the two rim sets?
4/18/2006 11:13:39 PM
spend a little more and go for:
4/18/2006 11:17:21 PM
The SSRs are ~$3000 on tirerack.comand you can only get the ZCPs from a dealer, and I found a source to sell them for ~$1700!
4/18/2006 11:23:08 PM
I would have to vote the SSR GT3. I will have those one day.
4/18/2006 11:54:28 PM
I like them both, but ZCP seems more reasonable.
4/18/2006 11:55:02 PM
I like the ZCP's a little better to start with, and if you're getting that kind of deal--go for it!

what the hell is this ZCP shit. those are the CSL replicas made by velocity motoring. http://www.modbargains.com/product.asp?pf_id=velocity009[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 9:10 AM. Reason : .]

the zcp's look like any other factory bmw wheel.these are the shit.the 545http://www.hrewheels.com/wheels/series.asp?series=540
4/19/2006 9:07:57 AM
that's b/c they are replicas of a factory BMW wheel
4/19/2006 9:09:42 AM
then why not just by some factory knock-offs? be a hell of a lot cheaper.

the ZCPs are not knock offs of the CSL. ZCP is a factory competition package that dealers sell.the ZCP wheels are exactly the same as CSL except the fronts on the ZCPs are 8 inches instead of 8.5. In terms of looks, they should be near identical. OEM CSL wheels are extra expensive and rare becase they are non-orderable in U.S. OEM ZCP wheels you can buy at the dealer.
4/19/2006 2:17:33 PM
b/w the optoins above, i would go with the SSR...i was actually looking at a set a while back when i was shopping for wheels.the SSR comps would be nice also, too bad they've been discontinuedyou may also want to look into iForged, J-Line, HRE (mentioned above), Kinesis, etc.[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 2:20 PM. 4/19/2006 2:18:59 PM
wtf is a rim
4/19/2006 2:21:15 PM
the reason against factory knock offs is because depending on how they're made, I heard they are softer than factory rims, therefore bending more easily. And some knock-offs are heavier than factory. It would be analogous to going around sporting fake Pradas... might as well get a factory rim that is durable, looks good, and is the real thing.
4/19/2006 2:22:19 PM
i kinda like this one
4/19/2006 2:24:55 PM
CSL reps (ZCP) also with sparky on this, $899 for a set of 19's @ modbargins.com. I thought about some myself.

there's nothing wrong with them being made in china..plus, addiwei is chinese anyway
4/19/2006 3:21:01 PM
thats a lot of money for some damn wheels. screw the bling. my Kosei K1s were $175 a pop and weigh 16lbs each. done and done
4/19/2006 4:07:08 PM
dont put cheap wheels on an expensive carand dont put expensive wheels on a cheap car
4/19/2006 4:12:43 PM
exactly.. same reason I'm not seriously considering the replicas.. The concave on the replicas in the rear is not as deep as the OEMs either.
4/19/2006 4:14:20 PM
after conversing with a few people, I think I'll stay stockThanks for the input guys
4/19/2006 5:54:10 PM
yeah thats a preaty good plan right there ^
4/19/2006 6:51:07 PM
your rims look hot right now but if u had to decide, id go with the SSR GT3
4/19/2006 10:38:12 PM
SSR GT3 by far. it's a simpler design to me
4/20/2006 2:08:22 AM
