If someone with an Alpine HU buys your changer, I'd be interested in the remote/display screen setup...

the cd changer hooks up by splicing into the antenna behind the head unit so I beleive that the display screen and remote are need for the cd changer to work

But i dont know if thats what you are askin

any chance the alpine changer plays MP3 cds?

and will it work with any of the Alpine's I have CDA-9831, CDA-7875, CDA-9855 or the IVA-D310?

It does not play MP3's

I dont know why it would work with any of those, I had this hooked up to both my stock radios in a saturn and my honda civic, it was also hooked up to my sony explode head unit

What is the model number on the changer?

Generally, the remote and display screen would be needed to make it work with a non-Alpine head unit. That's why it has to splice into the antenna. If you're using it with an Alpine head, it can probably plug directly into it and be controlled from the head.

If it's the same model number as mine I can be more sure of this.

in other words this is a RF Modulated CD Changer.... Someone would need to get the cable to hook up directly to their Apline head unit in order for it to interface through the head unit. Otherwise you still use the Alpine head unit to tune to a radio station to listen to the CD changer.

yeah basically thats how it works, i dont think you need to buy a cable cause the modulator comes with a antenna adaptor, power, accessory and ground wires to hook up to the headunit

yes you do need to tune to a radio channel to listen to the cds in the changer i believe its 88.7

the model number is chm-s651rf
