any IBM'ers on here that have sametime running on their blackberry or treo?

Just curious if this is something that is hard to get setup or what?

you need to get sametime everyplace and then the sametime client.

its probably pretty easy to setup.

Im waiting on the PO for everyplace server to come thru so we can set it up here. We had some IBM techs come out to fix a tape drive and they were all up in some sametime on blackberry

why in the hell you would want to do this is beyond me - HAVE A LIFE - do not let work run you and have access to you at all times

i travel for big blue everyweek - and if they want to talk to me when i'm not on a client's site or at my home office - they can screw themselves - do not set this up

People love to appear busy. They will complain about how much work they have, but in reality they just love to feel needed and derive their fuel through work.

OR

when you're oncall, you might want to go out to eat? leave your laptop for a minute?

if they gave me a treo, i'd probably do the same thing

Yea, if someone figures out how to do this, let me know. I've got a Treo and we use sametime at GE.

If you can get WECM for your Blackberry, then you will be able to stay on Sametime FOREVER.

unfortunately they cant even afford more than 2 pagers for my team, so "oncall" really just means stay by your phone.

oncall isnt nearly as bad as 3rd shift or 10-day rotations, ugh

hook me up with a job in BCS

check the internal job listing site - just be aware when you apply your current manager gets copied on the application

if you like travel i might be able to help you out - what do you like doing/qualifications

[Edited on April 19, 2006 at 2:43 PM. Reason : no $5,000 bonus for internal hires unfortunately though]

go to the /travel from w3 and check out OTR - they list meal/hotel limits for each location - if you are on a project that ibm is paying for expenses - corners will be cut - but as long as the client is paying you just follow the guidelines on there - different for every city

actual on-site location office/cube depends on the company
