The fastest way to do it would be through a crossover cable. The second fastest would be through a regular wired network. The third fastest would be to burn it to a DVD (depending how fast/slow the DVD drive is), the fourth fastest would be compress and burn to multiple CDs, the fifth fastest through a direct wireless network, and the slowest practical means would be over the internet.

so its just one file? yeah, use winzip or winrar and compress the file and then burn it on a dvd. another easy option for anyone mildly computer savvy is to plug in a hard drive and transfer it there, then give your buddy that hard drive. another option would be to remove your hard drive and plug it into his machine and pull the file off. you can try sending it over aim but i dont think it would work. if neither one of you know what you're doing with computers get someone to help you.
