Official site with trailer: http://www.sophieschollmovie.com/IMDB: http://imdb.com/title/tt0426578/In 1943, as Hitler continues to wage war across Europe, a group of college students mount an underground resistance movement in Munich. Dedicated expressly to the downfall of the monolithic Third Reich war machine, they call themselves the White Rose. One of its few female members, Sophie Scholl, is captured during a dangerous mission to distribute pamphlets on campus with her brother Hans. Unwavering in her convictions and loyalty to the White Rose, her cross-examination by the Gestapo quickly escalates into a searing test of wills as Scholl delivers a passionate call to freedom and personal responsibility that is both haunting and timeless.SOPHIE SCHOLL-THE FINAL DAYS received three Lolas (German Oscars) including the Audience Award and Best Actress Award to Jentsch for her brilliant characterization of the title role. The film also won two Silver Bears for Best Director and Best Actress at the 2005 Berlin International Film Festival.I watched Sophie Scholl last night, and it was really good. Julie Jentsch, who was in 2004's The Edukators, was really amazing. She kind of looks like a mix between Claire Danes and Orlando Bloom. Seriously. It's very interesting, because, while the subject matter of The White Rose or Sophie Scholl could film a film taking course over the course of years and years, the film takes place in five days. I really liked the structure of it, and the humanity of all of the characters, both resistance and Nazi, is shown beautifully. I'd definitely recommend this film to pretty much anybody. Except maybe Nazis. It's got an 8.1 on IMDB and 89% on RottenTomatoes. As I said above, it won some of the most prestigious awards the German film community offers, and it was nominated for the Academy Award for best foreign picture (it lost to Tsotsi). Anyways, come and see it.Starting Friday, April 14th at Galaxy Cinema. Showtimes are 2:05, 4:30, 7:00, and 9:25. Student tickets are $5.50. HOLLA![Edited on April 13, 2006 at 12:14 PM. Reason : ]

If you're a german director then doing a movie about germans who opposed the nazis is probably the easiest way to win an award.NOW IS THE TIME ON SHPROCKETS VEN VE DANCE!

It's German with English subtitles. We have never played a dubbed movie.I'd also like to say that, regardless of what you think about Germans giving awards for whatever reasons, it actually IS a good movie.
