you drive or even what you drive?
4/12/2006 3:22:27 PM
Yeah.I drive an inefficient car. I'll drive it more efficiently because 10 cents hurts more.
4/12/2006 3:25:24 PM
I changed the way/amount I drive when prices hit $2.20Since that point I have driven as little as absolutely possible.
4/12/2006 3:25:38 PM
i tried to sell my xterra last year b/c of gas prices but couldn't...no one wants an SUV.i'm gonna trade it in within the next 6-8 months and get something smaller with better gas mileage
4/12/2006 3:26:22 PM
i have a corolla that gets 30 mpg. i have work/school everyday so i can't really change the way i drive, but i would love to not have to depend on a car
4/12/2006 3:31:52 PM
+
4/12/2006 3:35:46 PM
only if you are poor.
4/12/2006 3:37:17 PM
i'm poor and i drive an SUV. i'm screwed!
4/12/2006 3:40:17 PM
they already have. that's why i bought a 38 mpg car. if only i didn't work in greensboro and live in winston but i'm going to grad school too... so I do alot of driving. I can't wait 'till i can stay in one city
4/12/2006 3:41:01 PM
Im thinking of selling my Discovery. Its just too much to bear now, even working full time.
4/12/2006 3:51:01 PM
^And those are money pits anyway.
4/12/2006 3:54:11 PM
gas prices haven't even peaked yet.....just over heard 2 co-workers talking about how it cost them 50+ to fill up their suvs tank. WOW glad i just switched over to a camry
4/12/2006 3:56:48 PM
I can't really do much, I drive a car that I can get ~200 miles on a tank of gas which is alright, but there isn't much else i can do as far as public transportation, none of it goes where I need it, and I really only drive to work (when I have a job) and school and there's not much else I can cut back on, so it kind of sucks. I carpool if I go somewhere that others need to go to also. But the only thing holding me back is going from city to city. I can use public transportation just fine in Raleigh, but once you try to leave Raleigh and go to another city without a car and rely just on public transportation it gets a little hairy, if not impossible.
4/12/2006 3:59:11 PM
can't afford a new car, can't afford to miss school or work, so gas prices wont affect my driving regardless of how high the prices go... it will just continually cut down my budget for other things
4/12/2006 4:00:42 PM
i'd be fine if i didn't have to keep going to weddings out of the state all the time[Edited on April 12, 2006 at 4:04 PM. Reason : o]
4/12/2006 4:02:29 PM
yes, i take the bus now if i can.
4/12/2006 4:03:19 PM
out of curiosity i decided to see what my mileage was if i drove like i was supposed toits 33mpgi usually get 21mpgif gas hits $3 i might change, but id rather just pay a premium to enjoy driving
4/12/2006 4:03:39 PM
4/12/2006 4:06:51 PM
but yeah, it really hasn't[Edited on April 12, 2006 at 4:08 PM. Reason : +]
4/12/2006 4:07:57 PM
Yes...but it's not the only factor. I'd drive frugally and carpool when possible, simply for the sake of conservation. But when I buy a car this summer, it's likely going to be a smaller sedan of sorts, instead of the truck that i REALLY want.
4/12/2006 4:32:24 PM
I know I'm not the only one when I was smaller and asked to draw the world in 15 years to say we were going to be like the Jetsons. Too bad it didn't happen.
4/12/2006 6:58:50 PM
No, I just traded my economy subcompact car for a small SUV, and average 80 miles a day. Fuel economy was a consideration, but I was sick of having a vehicle that was way too underpowered for my needs. 26mpg higway still isn't horrible though.
4/12/2006 8:41:50 PM
^^ funny and true point.Anyway, I drive an extremely inefficent car. 12 mpg...and I drive with my fuel economy in mind- constantly. In fact, my car has an "economy guage" that is pretty much in compliment with the tacometer. But anyway, you can't accelerate quickly in my car.
4/12/2006 8:54:50 PM
and if you read that as taco- meetur then you prolly laughed like me
4/12/2006 8:55:54 PM
fuck iti can afford it
4/12/2006 9:42:22 PM
4/12/2006 9:46:20 PM
I've only had a car for a year. It's a Civic. I get good gas mileage. So no.
4/12/2006 11:07:50 PM
if god created oil shouldnt we blame him?
4/12/2006 11:22:14 PM
I'm going to quit my classes at wake tech
4/12/2006 11:29:39 PM
I'm thinking about going with a used VW in the next year or two to replace my 4-cylinder Ranger and get the TDI engine and go greasel. About 6 restuarants in town and nobody in this little town has even heard of greasal. So I think I'm gonna save up some dough to setup the car and the conversion system.
4/12/2006 11:35:52 PM
4/12/2006 11:35:58 PM
gas prices changed the way i looked at driving last year... hasn't changed since.
4/12/2006 11:41:24 PM
heh. I have a 97 dakota with a 5.2 V8 and get about 14-16 on the highway. My truck has been sitting in the same spot for a week and it isn't moving until after exams.
4/12/2006 11:46:31 PM
Fullsize Dodge D350 one-ton truck with the Cummins diesel.I get between 17 and 18...ON A FULLSIZE BIG ASS TRUCK. EAT THAT SHIT.But 100 dolla a week for fuel really hits home hard.
4/13/2006 1:41:52 AM
economics says yes
4/13/2006 1:49:22 AM
goin from a 32mpg Spec V to an 17mpg Envoy this weekend. We'll see how that goes
4/13/2006 2:00:57 AM
You'll love the space
4/13/2006 2:02:03 AM
Ford is counting on you!http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/04/12/060412200622.3j2d0yzp.html
4/13/2006 2:53:17 AM
My tacoma gets 18/23. My honda 919 gets 45-50. Guess which one I drive more?
4/13/2006 8:18:00 AM
my 2001 f150 supercab XLT 5.4L gets 13mpg (10mpg towing the boat) I'm picking up my 1986 volkswagon golf today... it gets >30mpg... has no AC, power steering, radio, is loud as crap, and a complete babe repulsion system... but its free-$200 depending on if I want to keep it forever.
4/13/2006 8:30:24 AM
I was at a body shop yesterday, and they were selling a Lincoln Navigator for $53,000. The damn thing gets 13mpg.
4/13/2006 8:52:27 AM
kinda. last new car i bought was a civic.
4/13/2006 9:06:30 AM
i get 330 miles on a tank of gas (12 gallons to fill up) and i use 87
4/13/2006 9:10:46 AM
hah. I can get 300 miles on a tank just driving back and forth between raleigh and wlimington. That's on 22 gallons though. Just topped off the tank- $23 for 8.218 gallons @ $2.79/gal.
4/13/2006 10:31:55 AM
My 3.0L V6 gets around 410 miles per tank all cityMPG comes out to be around 22-23
4/13/2006 10:34:10 AM
NO
4/13/2006 10:36:01 AM
and what's even funnier is I have gone through 300gal+ of gas between last semester and now. And that's just what I have receipts for.
4/13/2006 10:38:30 AM
I reduced the amount I drive and am planning to get a more efficient car when the one I'm driving now is no longer viable. I also shift at 1500 rmp instead of 3000 or so like I did when I was 17. That adds some gas mileage.
4/13/2006 10:39:22 AM
I've gone through 5 tanks in the last week[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 10:49 AM. Reason : ]
