I bought my 2004 WRX at Performance Subaru.- The sales people are cool. Atleast mine was, so I guess it depends on who you end up running into in there.- Got a really good deal on my car, without co-signer. Was able to finance it fairly easily with no credit at all within 2 hours (as a recent college grad).- Good customer service, though service department is hard to reach sometimes.- They send me reminders and coupons for service and recalls (of course, only one recall so far and it was for a cruise control clip).I say go with the Legacy GT if you can't get in an STI- It's luxurious- It's just as fast and fun (if not faster than a WRX Wagon/Sedan)- IMO, Looks much better than WRX (yes, I'm a hypocrite)I can't comment on Souther States because I haven't been there before.

haha yeah i've driven it once and i loved it i sorta want to try a 5 speed outback turbo too.but thanks for the input, the chick i went with last time (@ performance) was a big hippy and wasn't into driving fast more of the ll bean edition subaru kinda girl.i was just wondering which you think would be better to try to drive.the wrx wagon wouldn't stay stock for long at all... and honestly the alpha style front end is growing on me i'm sorta looking for the sleeper from hell.

I thought the salesman at southern states when I went there were the biggest douchebags ever. I'm going to check out performance in the next couple of weeks. fwiw

Those freakin' legacy GTs can look NASTY.A friend of mine's got a new one on black w/ chrome lip 19s, lowered, with a system, yadda yadda, it's sweet as hell.

southern states imports (vw/subaru) is pretty well known in the local vw community to be the worst in the area for vw stuff (sales/parts/service)i'm assuming since they share the building and staff, it holds true for SS subaru

my roomate had a pretty good experience there when he bought his wrx. they eventually told him he could come in & test drive a sti but i can't remember if that was before or after he bought his car.

Suspended had a good experience at performance, but lots of bmw people hate performance so who knows

I had no problems test driving my STi. I just called southern states and asked if they had a blue one on the lot...then went in and test drove it...just had to do a credit check.

I've heard bad things about Southern States as well. So bad that I even met a guy that bought a WRX from SS and went to Performance when he upgraded to an STi. You'd think he'd go to SS and get a good deal as a repeat customer, but he didn't want to spend any more money there.[Edited on September 27, 2006 at 11:12 AM. Reason : s]

Used to have a subaru. Service at southern states sucked. they never had any parts in stock, including those for recall. Salespeople were so bad, bought the car in Myrtle Beach, SC. It was easier to deal with the hassle of transfering title, etc than dealing with southern States. They are in a flood plain ya know.I would avoid doing business with them
