very animated, sit near the front. lectures the whole time. 2 tests, 1 final, not hard. i thought he was good, used a lot of real life examples and played music often. funny, in a dorky sort of way. i made a B, and i didn't understand it 100%.

funny/animated. has a generous grading curve scale and his tests are pretty basic too.

hell answer any questions you have, but if youre looking for a professor that wants to get involved w/ students i dont think youll find that w/ him.

I had 205 with him. I think I actually learned more in the lab than the class though. Take him if you get a chance.

Hyman was great for 205. Made it interesting, got me interested enough in econ that I took several classes more in it.

this guy is great

I mean, 205 is a joke, so I can't say how well he teaches

but he was really entertaining, sometimes unintentionally

...I dunno what those people are on, but the constant Beatles music and references to cars got old real quick. That class was boring as hell.

he's very strange cause he teaches with music in his lectures but very good prof for econ

I didn't learn a lot but got an A I think (it was awhile ago when I took it)

The thing that really counts in this class is who your TA is.

Mine was awesome and gave out sample tests, etc

I had a suitemate of mine taking it at the same time and hers wasn't good at all.

My TA sucked pretty bad too, his class has a 15 point scale - that is your curve

Every question you miss on your tests is 1 point off of your final grade, lab counts for 25% of grade and attendance is mandatory bc you take quizzes all the time. The first test is easy and class is slow paced but when i took it, Fall 05, 2nd semester was very fast paced and much harder to follow his notes. Just read the online stuff, take notes, and cram before your tests and you will get a B for sure. I got a C- because of my damn lab , missed a B- by one point but o well.

Hyman is a jew teaching economics...who else would you trust?

I never did any of the online stuff cause I didn't need it. Between notes and lab I had everything there. But it really depends on the TA.

(BTW I took it Spring '03)
